(Lily's POV)

Weeks had passed since the incident. Weeks of fear, pain, hell. I could only walk the street with someone else. I could only sleep with Martin in my bed, or Anne in my lounge, or Natalie on call. This was supposed to be my safe space, and he'd found me. News articles of the incident assured me he had been found and locked up, but clearly last time I thought I was free from him, I was wrong. So I wasn't prepared to risk it. I could only work day shifts, and even then only a few hours or days at a time, otherwise the pain in my temple began to pound again, or my stomach began to cramp. Whether in anxiety or bruising. Today, I wasn't working and despite adoring my job and my friends, I craved this day to myself. It wasn't unusual for the sky to be bleak and tears falling from the clouds to dampen the shiny grey surface of floor, but since he had shown back up in my life, everything seemed that little bit darker. I sighed, my arms outside of the cream duvet as my head turned to the window. I didn't feel like moving, so I grabbed my phone and did the only thing I did feel like doing today.

After a fun hour or so on FaceTime, starting when Martin was at the studio and ending when he was at my back gate, I decided it might be time to get up. I heard the gate creek and sat up in bed, however felt a throbbing pain in my head as I did so.
"Ouch," I sighed to myself, putting my hand over my eyes. Clearly I'd just sat up to quick and left myself a minute to let my headache subside slightly.
"Helloooooo," I heard an energetic familiar voice welcome himself through the front door.
"I'm getting up now," i laughed reassuring him i would welcome him properly in a moment.
"Don't get up," he brought himself into the bedroom, leaning against the doorframe. He looked so effortlessly perfect - his hair messy from his hood of his grey hoody that had been protecting him from the rain, matching grey joggers and his usual stumble framing his face perfectly. His teeth smiled to me, his eyes just as happy as he gazed upon me. Little old me. Messy hair that had been left hanging loose overnight and was somewhat knotted, my eyes tired and skin makeup less, my body enclosed by his own t shirt which swarmed me.
"You're so beautiful," he whispered, closing his eyes in glee as he rested his head on the door as though he was reading my insecure thoughts.
"Stop just standing there and being cute and come here and cuddle me," I winked to him, snuggled myself back under the duvet. He laughed, before playfully jumping on the bed and pulling me onto him.
