(Lily's POV)

Walking up the sweet cobbled streets that night, everything felt bizarre. The rain felt powerfully, however the few trees and warmth of my new friends clothing kept me dry and warm. After a few minutes of working, I reached my little home and twisted the key in the door. It was well past midnight, so there was no point FaceTiming my family tonight, but that didn't stop me from pulling my phone out of my pocket after I had removed my makeup, plaited my long dark hair and flopped into my bed.
' im sure I'll see you very soon, you're great company (with very cosy hoodies)' I replied to Martins message, almost refusing to acknowledge how surreal the situation was. Before I'd even given the man a chance to reply, I had placed my phone on the bedside table and allowed my sleepy eyes to close.

(Martins POV)

"So you're hitting Tremor with this laser and pyro, moving swiftly to this one with this back drop," Gabe's American accent speeded through the set plan for my show this weekend. It was one of few winter shows, and being in the Netherlands made it all the more special. I was super excited, but I couldn't focus. My mind drifted to my new friend - I wondered what she was doing, perhaps at work with her friends and a smile on her beautiful face. And then the realisation hit me. Beautiful face?! Pull yourself together, Martijn, you don't even know her really!
"That cool with you, Marty?" Gabe interrupted my thoughts.
"Yeah sounds great," I smiled to him, but he wasn't convinced.
"You didn't listen to a word I just said, did you buddy?" He folded his arms with a sigh.
"I did, I switched off after, urm, tremor pyros. Sorry brother," I apologised to him.
"Look you clearly need to clear your head, let's call it a session and we'll regroup around 8pm tonight," Gabe closed his laptop lid. While he was a very close friend of mine, he was very passionate about his work and I was very grateful for that. I nodded and quietly headed out of the studio to the foyer where I had left my phone. She hasn't messaged for a few hours, not that I was bothered, or counting. She must be at work, I thought. I decided I'd take a walk into the town and collect a pizza to eat, so I grabbed my phone and pulled it into my hoodie pocket, before leaving the building into the cold winter sun.

(Lily's POV)

It had been weeks since I'd seen Martin. We had the odd interaction online, but nothing more than an idol and a fan. I finally had a day off today, and as usual, the rain poured on the roof. I didn't feel like doing a lot today, so I let my brown hair fall straight to my waist, pulled on a cosy pair of cream joggers and a plain white cropped top and made my way to the sofa.

Hours passed unexcitedly - I had spoken to my family, tried to persuade Simon to come and keep me company, had a nap with Luna and done all my housework. I was now very bored indeed. Almost on queue, my phone began to vibrate. I sighed, picking it up rather to quick out of boredom and almost threw it immediately back down with what I saw.

' Instagram : incoming voice call - @ martingarrix '

With a shake in my voice, I answered the unexpected call.
"Can I help, mr garrix?" I attempted to play it cool, but my inner self was struggling.
"Are you busy? Im super bored, want to do something?" His sweet Dutch accent smiled through the phone. How can you tell your child hood crush that in fact, you do want to do rather a lot.
"I'm so glad you asked, I'm bored out of my head, I'm not coming out though it's too cosy in here and too soggy out there," I shrugged down the phone, hoping for a compromise.
"I would never stop you from being cosy, Lil. Send me your address and I'll be there in 10," he responded with an adorable croak in his voice.
"9 Goordstraat, Zaandam. And bring food," I cheekily responded, an overwhelming urge of confidence.
"You can rely on me! See you soon," and with that, the call ended. Somehow, I wasn't freaking out. I wasn't running around to apply a full face of makeup and sort my hair. I just lay in my loungewear and scrolled my phone. Perhaps it hadn't sunk in.

Around fifteen minutes later, I heard the gate to my front garden creek open. I took a deep breath, turning my head to the window to see the boy. He had a black hoodie on, similar to the one he had lent to me, with grey joggers and black trainers. His hoodie was over his head to shelter from the rain, but he still looked perfect. I noticed a box in his arms, perhaps a pizza box. Without dwelling, I pulled myself out of the cosines of the sofa and opened the front door.
"Welkom, Martijn," I joked in Dutch to the man.
"So good to see you, Lily," he responded with a smile. He stepped inside and placed the pizza box on the sofa, kicking his black shoes off and pulling his hood down. His hair was messy, yet perfect. His face was stubbled around his chin and upper lip, complimenting his thick eyebrows and delicate aqua eyes. But I needed to stop staring.
"Is this your place? It's so homely and humble," he looked around the tiny lodge, a genuine spark of happiness from his smile.
"It's not mine, the owners live in the house just over there, but they're my families good friends so they treat it as my own," I told him, gesturing to the bigger house at the other end of the garden.
"Anyway, make yourself at home, do you want a drink?" I asked him. He agreed to a coffee, so I put the kettle on as he threw himself gently onto the sofa. As I returned with the drinks, I noticed Luna had made her way into his lap and was curling up, purring. He was stroking her calmly and looked so pure.
"You've made a friend then," I laughed, placing his drink on the small coffee table infront of the seating.
"I just have this affect on people and animals," he winked.
"You haven't had that affect on me yet," I joked playfully in return. "That's why I'm sat over here not on your lap," I confidently replied with remark to his comment on the cat.
"Youre only not because your cat beat you to it," he responded with a smirk.
"Wow, confident much," I joked, reaching over and slapping his arm from the other side of the sofa where he sat. We continued to joke around for a while, we decided to put a movie on as we ate the pizza he had sweetly agreed to bring. We were actually getting on really well, and he was so sweet. I found myself lying on the sofa with my legs over his lap, his fingers caressing my shin through my joggers as we both focused on the movie we had chosen. It was a rom-com, so one minute we were laughing our heads off, and the next cringing our heads off, the next close to tears. As the movie drew to a close, I found myself sniffing away my emotions.
"Oh god Lily, are you actually crying?" Martin laughed, placing his hand further up my leg to comfort me.
"No of course I'm not," I sarcastically joked, wiping away my tears.
"Come here," He laughed, moving his hand off my leg and opening his arms. I crawled across the sofa and snuggled into his chest, without even processing what was happening. I lay my head in his chest and my arm over his abdomen, as he protected me from all my feelings with both his arms tightly around me.
"Was this all part of your plan? Put on a movie you know would make anyone cry just so you can cuddle me better?" I joked, turning my head from the tv to look up at him.
"That was the exact plan, Lily," he smirked, placing a kiss on my forehead.

I opened my eyes when darkness had fallen outside, completely confused and unaware of where I was or what was happening. I was at home, but it didn't smell like my house. It smelt of intoxicating musky chocolate as my head moved in a comforting rhythm. Oh my god, it was Martin. I had fallen asleep on Martin, and he had fallen asleep against me. I could hear the rain pattering on the roof, Luna purring in the corner of the sofa, Martijns gentle breathing as his nose blew soft air against my head that was still on his chest. I had awoken to a knock on the door, so I gently tried to unlatch myself from the Dutch boys comforting arms. Unfortunately, I had been unsuccessful and caused him to stir.
"Don't go," he muttered in a sleepy voice as he independently stood to my tired feet.
"I'm just going to get the door, go back to sleep!" I laughed quietly.
"Dennis! Sorry to leave you out in the rain, we fell asleep," I laughed, welcoming the smily man into his property, which was also my home. I noticed he raised his eyebrows at me, as I realised what I had said.
"I just came to check on you, I hadn't seen you today!" He laughed. "I didn't know you'd made friends!" He exclaimed, obviously noticing what I had accidentally let slip. I laughed at his Dutch directness.
"I would introduce you but I think he's gone back to sleep," I laughed, poking my head round the door to see my friend sat upright on the sofa on his phone.
"I'm not asleep! I'm coming!" He enthusiastically responded, as if excited to meet Dennis.
"Great to meet you, I'm Martijn," he entered the room and offered him his hand.
"Ah, that kind of friend, I see," Dennis winked to him, reaching to also shake his hand.
"Oh, no we're-"
"Well ill leave you to it then guys, have a super nice night," Dennis interrupted me before winking and leaving the lodge into the pouring rain, myself and Martin once again alone.
