(Third person narrative)

"Are you sure you want to do this on your own? I don't mind if you want to come to the show then we can go together after," Martin assured Lily, holding her hands tight to his as he gazed into her eyes, the rest of the airport unimportant in the situation.
"I'm sure, to be honest I'm so nervous I'd rather get it out of the way now," Lily took a deep breath, knowing she needed to tell them. Martin nodded and said a goodbye to the girl, before heading off with Watse and his team. Lily trudged through Heathrow until she reached the general arrivals, looking out for her taxi.
"Lily mountford?" A woman approached her. She had a short brown pixie cut with bleached highlights, a made up face and chewing gum in her mouth, echoing as she waited for Lily's response.
"Urm Yes, to this address please," Lily pulled out the text from her mum giving the exact address of her home. The lady beckoned Lily along as they both exited the airport towards the black car.

Martin happened to have a show that night in London, so lily had flown over in his jet with the team and was going to use the time to visit her mother and tell her the news. Speculations were rising amongst martijns fans due to his lack of performances recently, with such little context, so she wanted to tell her mum now before word got out.

As the black car eventually pulled up the long, steep driveway to the house, lily took a deep breath. She knew this was going to be hard.

"Lily! What a wonderful surprise! Come in!" Her mum answered the door after just two knocks, giving her a huge hug, the washing up gloves on her hand squeaking as she did so.
"I didn't know you were coming over?!" She smiled, taking her daughter through to the living room.
"Well Martins got a show in London today so I thought I'd come over with him!" She smiled back. Deborah raised her eyebrows, as though she could tell something was off.
"You mean, you chose to come back over here?" She queried, not quite buying her casual agenda. Deborah knew Lily better than she knew herself, which was unhelpful in these tense situations.
"Ok well yeah that is the truth, but I guess there's more to it. I actually need to talk to you. Urm, where's Daisy?"
"She's upstairs, let me call her down," Deborah began walking to the wooden stair case, shouting for the younger sibling to join the two of them in the lounge.
"What? Oh, hi lily," Daisy waved bluntly, hardly looking up from her phone. She had grown up so much recently, Lily hardly knew what to do, so she just laughed.
"What was it you wanted to talk to me about?" Deborah sat herself on the side of the sofa, her mug of tea in her hands. Lily sighed, knowing there was no easy way to announce her news.
"Well, the thing is," she started, scratching the back of her neck and looking to the floor. She couldn't bare eye contact.
"It's urm, that, well, Martin and I urm, we're,"
"Oh my god are you getting married? Can I chose the cake?!" Daisy piped up, causing everyone in the room to laugh.
"No, no we're not getting married Daisy. But we are having a baby, I'm pregnant,"
Lily kept her eyes fixed firmly on the floor, the room so silent you could hear a pin drop, or a small breath.
"Oh my goodness, I'm going to be a grandma!" Deborah burst out, holding her hands to her face in sheer delight.
"And I'll be an aunty! Wait will the baby speak Dutch or English?" Daisy asked, clear a million and one thoughts were pounding round her small head.
"I haven't even thought about them speaking at all yet, I'm only 6 weeks gone," lily laughed, looking down at her stomach. She was paraded by cuddles and warmth, tears of happiness and excitement. At that moment, everything felt perfect.
