(Lily's POV)
I hadn't quite processed the happenings of the day when I arrived at work that night. I wasn't even wearing my uniform - but luckily Martins hoodie was black so it would be ok.
"Evening, Lil" Simon sipped his drink at the bar as I energetically made my way towards him. Despite the cold and wet inhalation through me, i still felt ridiculously warm and cosy right now.
"Heyyyy," I dragged out, hugging him enthusiastically from behind. He turned to look at me when I let go, gazing up and down in confusion.
"What's up with you?" He laughed.
"Nothing at all!" I smiled, heading behind the bar. I began serving customers, until Lester appeared walking through the front door.
"Evening everyone," he paraded joyously to the bar, pulling his hood down as he did so.
"Lester! How's josie?!" I asked, Simon also nodding and watching for his reaction.
"All well, Josie and baby Felix back home!" He smiled, almost glowing. We both gasped, congratulating him and giving him lots of hugs.
The evening flew by uneventfully. It was warm in the pub as the clock hit midnight, and time for me to head home. I headed out the back of the pub to the tiny block that was the staff room, reaching up to the coat hangers and grabbed Martins hoodie. As I pulled it over my head, I took a deep breath, appreciating that it smelt of him still; like melted chocolate with an intoxicating manly musk. I reached into the pocket and pulled my phone out, checking it for the first time since I left the studio. I had many notifications - most from mum and my family back in England, and then one that caught my eye. I read it. Then read it again. And almost dropped to the floor.
" Instagram message request :
@ martingarrix - im glad i saw you today :) "
I stood in disbelief, awaiting the realisation to hit me of what had actually happened today as I stood in my idols hoodie, staring at his message.
"I'm glad i saw you too, although I'll have to drop your hoodie back at some point!" I responded eventually. Casual, calm and polite, I thought to myself, hoping I had said the right thing. How had he even found my Instagram?!
"Lily? What are you doing here still?" Simon asked, also joining me whilst he pulled his black coat on. "Oh god, what's happened?" He dropped his shoulders, clearly acknowledging the shocked look on my face. I didn't think i was capable of playing it cool any longer, so I simply turned my phone around to show him the message.
"What the hell?! You met Martin today?!" He screamed, drawing attention from not only the last few customers out the front, but also Lester.
"I just bumped into him! I got abit lost and, well, he took me to shelter in the studio and then gave me a lift back. Well, Louis did and Martin came," I rushed my words, trying to remain calm about the situation. Simon held his head in disbelief, then his eyes lowered.
"That's Martins jumper! He gave you his fucking jumper! Oh my god Lils," he almost jumped up and down, really showing who was the fangirl. I laughed uncontrollably, grabbing his wrists.
"What the hells going on?!" Lester rushed into the room. Simon and I exchanged a glance, before giggling again.
"Lily's got a boyfriend!" He immaturely teased.
"I have not!" I slapped his arm playfully. Just then, my phone pinged. The three of us fell silent, Lester still unaware on the circumstances. I looked at my phone and felt butterflies escape my stomach and spread warmly through my chest.
"@ martingarrix - don't worry about that you can keep hold of it for now :) but if you ever want to come and say hi, you're welcome ❤️"
My jaw dropped, as Simon snatched the phone out of my hand to read the message, before also falling in disbelief.
"Can someone please tell me what is going on?" Lester calmly asked. I grabbed my phone off Simon and shoved it in his face to read.
"Okay I understand why we're freaking out now," Lester grabbed his head, his mouth falling in shock.
