(Martijns POV)

It had been a day since Lily told me the news, since my life changed for the better. I was always happy with my life, I'd have been stupid not to be. But I was always the kind of person to focus solely on the present, how much I was enjoying a show or a song I was working on, who I was going to perform infront of today. Now, I had a whole nee outlook. A future, a family. With the love of my life.

It was now clear why my poor girlfriend had been feeling so unwell, and so frequently sick. This part of me felt guilty for being part of the cause for this illness, but I knew I should push that aside and focus on her, and our baby's health. Lily was at home today having a rest; the past 24hours had been physically and mentally exhausting for her. Myself on the other hand, had taken a break from caring for her to visit my family and give them the news.

I walked along the road that my parents and Laura lived on, the hood up on my black 'stmpd' hoodie as I did.
"Martijn! Lovely to see you," a lady passed me, a warming smile on her face, her grey silky hair falling just to her shoulders in light waves. I recognised her face, her distinctive turquoise eyes creased underneath. I didn't want to appear rude, but I genuinely couldn't remember who she was.
"Oh silly me, of course you wouldn't remember! I'm your mums friend, Julia, I used to look after you sometimes when you were younger. I've watched your success for years and I must say I'm very proud to have babysat little marty," she stroked my hoodie sleeve, a genuine look of pride in her glistening eyes.
"Julia! I knew I recognised your face, I'm sorry I didn't realise sooner. It's lovely to see you," I responded with a wide smile. We continued speaking for a while, before we began to depart from eachother with friendly smiles, and a reminder of why I was actually here.
"Oh, and Martijn, I may have one favour for you in the near future, with my daughter, she's a huge fan. Would you come and meet her?" She smiled, almost seeming shy.
"Of course, id love to! Just message me a date and place and I'll check my rota," I waved her goodbye and continued on my way down the street.

"What a lovely surprise to see my beautiful son," my mum kissed my heart in her usual welcoming motherly nature as I sat myself on the brown leather sofa.
"Do you need a drink? A tea or a coffee?" My dad called from the kitchen as he stirred a spoon around his mug.
"Actually I'm just passing by, I have somewhere to be Im not too long," I referred to the illness of my love and how inconsiderate I felt leaving her alone for too long. My parents smiled, spreading confused eyes between eachother as I hesitantly rubbed my palms on my grey joggers.
"Where's Laura?" I asked, scratching the back of my neck. I wanted them all together to hear the news. My mum called her down and soon enough she came trudging into the room with her phone in her hand.
"Thought it smelt funny," she laughed, sticking her tongue out at me. Usually I would have chased her and tackled her to the ground in fits of playful sibling antics, but I simply laughed and shook my head. Undeniably I was very anxious.
"Martijn, my love, is everything ok? You don't seem yourself," my dad lowered his eyebrows slightly, sitting on the sofa next to me.
"I urm, I need to tell you all something," the room spread concerned glances.
"I, urm, we, urm Lily and I, i urm," I stuttered trying to find the right words.
"What's happened Martin?" Laura now sternly spoke, seeming rather anxious and impatient.
"Lily's pregnant. I got lily pregnant, we're having a baby. I'm going to be a dad."
