"Hello Treeboy. What ails thee?" Connor mused, sliding into a seat opposite Evan. Evan had been doing his normal thing of (not) eating lunch, but he had also been deep in thought. Zoe or Connor. Connor or Zoe. Zonnor or ---- WHAT??
"Huh?" Evan glanced up suddenly at the boy opposite him, and his heart melted. Connor. I would choose Connor. His head was tilted to the side, a worried puppy-like expression on his face. His wavy brown hair flopped over his shoulders, over the faded leather jacket he always wore.
"EARTH TO EVAN," Connor instructed loudly, waving his hand in front of Evan's face. That hand. I want it. I want that hand to be mine.
"Oh- oh, sorry," Evan stuttered.
"Hey, don't be sorry," Connor replied. "I asked if you were ok like four times, what's up??" His forehead crinkled adorably.
"I was just thinking," Evan managed to say.
"'Bout what?" Connor retorted, the crinkle between his eyebrows still there.
"Uh, wanna go see a movie?" Evan blurted out without thinking.
The crinkle disappeared and was replaced by a wide grin.
"Hell yeah."
