A/N: Song recommendation: Hans Zimmer - Time
                              ---
On the day of the aptitude test
All three went together to the aptitude test.
Rose didn't wear a dress today, but a loose-fitting pair of beige twill pants and an orange and white check shirt that she had borrowed from Bucky.
Her hair was tied tightly in a ponytail and she wore light makeup.
She didn't want to look too feminine.
At the test one had to go through a few stations.
Once a health examination, a personal interview, a sports test and a test of general knowledge.
All three came forward and took their seats in the waiting room.
Rose noticed the looks on the other men's faces. There were only two possibilities what they would think. Either they thought she was just along for the ride as an escort for Bucky or why a God damn woman would try it.
One by one the three were called up and subjected to the various tests.
                              Rose did pretty well.
She couldn't be turned down for the health examination because on the one hand she was in good health and on the other hand she seemed quite fit.
Then followed the general knowledge test, which she found quite easy, unlike some of the other participants. After all, she always had good grades at school.
The personal interview also went well. She only had to answer simple questions like why she wants to join the army, what her family background was like, what kind of education she had, and so on.
When it came to the sports test, she had to change clothes in a locker room with 20 other men. She herself had no problem with that, after all the gentlemen didn't get to see any more than if they were going to the lake for a swim.
But the hormones of her fellow males were probably a bit out of balance.
"Doll, what are you doing here? Are you lost?" came from a man sitting a little further away on the bench to her right.
Rose gave him no answer and just rolled her eyes over.
She was just finishing tying the laces of her boots when she heard footsteps behind her.
"Princess. Did you get lost on your way to the kitchen?" she heard a voice behind her.
She actually wanted to ignore him. For her the times were over where she jumped from one argument into the other. She didn't have the nerve for that and she didn't want to have it.
But when she suddenly felt him grabbing her ass, she saw red.
Saying stupid things was one thing but attacking her without permission was another.
With one swing she turned around and her fist landed on the jaw of the grabber. The others who had first laughed at the slogans were suddenly stunned.
The man she had just punched looked at her and in his eyes you could see that she had just made him really angry.
He spat the red colored saliva on the floor. Apparently he had bitten his own cheek when he was punched.
With slow but confident steps, he approached her.
"Honey, that was a mistake. Do you really think just because you're a woman I wouldn't show you the ropes?"
Rose couldn't help it and a loud laugh came out of her. He looked at her briefly irritated by her reaction before taking another step towards her.
