Bucky made his way to Hoboken to visit his sister.
When he entered her room, his aged sister was sitting in her wing chair as usual, reading a book.
"Jamie, what are you doing here? You were just here yesterday. What happened?"
"Rose." he answered her questions with just one word.
He sat down on the second wing chair next to Becca.
"We met again yesterday, well actually she chased me and we argued..."
He told her in detail about yesterday's incident.
                              "Did you hurt her?"
"Seriously Becca? That's your only question on it? No, I didn't. Anyway, not seriously."
"Buck, you guys need to resolve this huge issue that's come up between you. She obviously still has feelings for you, otherwise she would have done her job at the first opportunity. She's hurt and disappointed. She feels betrayed by the people who once meant everything to her."
"Yes, and how do I get the problem out of the way? It's not like she's going to listen to me."
Becca leaned forward and put her hand on one of his knees.
"Get her to listen to you, Jamie. I'm sure you'll find a way. Just please don't hurt her."
Bucky raised an eyebrow and looked skeptically at his sister.
"Becca you know I would never hurt her on purpose."
"I don't mean physically either. Don't hurt her more than she already is. She's like a little puppy, just please don't awaken the wolf in her, it would tear you apart without batting an eye."
Becca, too, had done her research. She knew about the crimes of 'The Nightingale' and she knew how heartless and cold Rose could be.
The two siblings talked for a while before Bucky left the nursing home again.
He racked his brains over how to get Rose to listen to him and really believe him.
On his walk, he ended up in Brooklyn as he had so many times before. He roamed the streets until he arrived at the East River. He sat down on the edge, letting his legs dangle down the concrete wall. His gaze roamed over the horizon and over the water, which lapped quietly.
                              ---
As Rose was leaving her apartment building, she once again ran into Mrs. Morris.
The old lady was about to take her trash outside.
                              "Honey, out again?"
"Hey Grams. Yeah it's been a long night, I need to get out and clear my head."
                              "Don't forget, lunch today."
"Oh yeah, lunch. Can we move that to the evening? I'm sure I won't make it back by noon. I'll bring some good wine, too."
She gave the old woman a puppy-dog look and took the garbage bag from her hand.
                              "Persuaded. Take care sweetie."
Rose winked at her again and then left the house.
First she got herself a nice greasy burger with fries and a Coke. She needed something hearty and greasy that would soak up the residual alcohol in her stomach. After she had eaten everything, she walked a round through Central Park.
Everywhere were couples in love, families, women and men walking their dogs.
She loved it here, everything felt so incredibly normal, unlike her life.
