Song recommendation for this chapter: Ruelle - Storm
                              ---
White light slammed right into her eyes and she saw IV bags dangling over her head, then she lost consciousness again.
Bucky was sitting next to her holding her hand, his eyes were red and swollen and he was shaking all over.
"Bruce, please tell me she's going to be okay."
Bruce just nodded silently and continued to tend to her bullet wound on her hip, just barely missing the aorta.
"She's lost tons of blood but if she takes it easy in the near future she'll be back on her feet. She's really lucky."
After Rose was shot, the Avengers had also defeated the rest of the soldiers and collectively decided that until the mystery of who was behind the attack was solved, they needed to get to a safe place.
Steve knew of some old houses that had once been built or renovated by S.H.I.E.L.D. for shelter.
So Rose, Bucky and Bruce found themselves in a quinjet piloted by Natasha, headed for Harpers Ferry.
A small town in West Virgina inhabited by just 300 people, there Bucky and Rose would spend the next weeks or months together in a safe house.
Bruce was knotting the strings together when Rose opened her eyes and screamed.
                              "No please not no."
Her features were etched with desperation and mortal fear.
Bucky stood beside her, stroking her cheeks and talking soothingly to her.
"Hey. Hey, Rosie..shh..It's all right, you're safe. Everything is ok just please you need to lie still ok?"
For a moment she thought she was back in Hydra's lab, but when she saw Bucky's face and he spoke to her she immediately felt safe. She knew as soon as she got better, there would be a sermon waiting for her from him.
She just nodded silently and squeezed his hand tightly.
He gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"I told you not to do anything stupid."
He gently stroked his hand through her hair and his forehead rested on hers.
"I thought I'd lost you again, don't ever do anything like that again will you?"
Rose's body was so drugged up that she immediately slumped away as soon as Bucky finished his sentence.
For the remaining three hours of the four hour flight, Bucky never once left her side. With every little change he saw on the monitor, he asked Bruce about it, worrying about them and blaming himself for all of them.
They had come for him. His past had caught up with him once again, and once again Rose had been the sorry one.
When the Quinjet finally landed on a large green area next to a road, they first brought the luggage into the house.
The house stood abandoned between the forest line and a side road.
From the outside it looked rather nondescript and a bit run down, but when you entered it, the complete opposite awaited you.
The interior had been completely renovated and the latest technology was hidden everywhere. It was secured like a bunker, but still looked quaint and cozy.
