Sebastian didn't know how to start. Who would want to ruin what they had? Well... whatever they had between them.
"Want to drink something?"
"Spit it out Sebastian." She coldly said but she was a little bit more anxious as he didn't answer her.
"As you already know, when my mom died, Frank and Danita adopted me. For the first weeks everything was fine. They were really good with me and took care of me until she became pregnant. She started to ask me to do the dishes, clean the floor, to cook for them. I was fourteen so I thought it was normal to ask me that, you know." Sebastian took a long breath stating silent for a minute. He didn't dare to look at her and played with his fingers as he carried talking. "My mom always said to be kind to people and help them when they ask to. When she was at fifteen weeks, she lost the baby and put it on my fault because I didn't clean the bathroom with a toothbrush and she needed to do it. Obviously she said it to Frank and he started to punish me. A slap in the face and each time after that I forgot to do something in the big list... he started to beat me too. Started with one kick in my abdomen to twenty, to thirty et cetera. After few months of that, I started running away in the middle of the night to completely leave for few days. I didn't have money so I started to steal people to buy me food. It wasn't enough so I started dealing. Even if it was cheap drugs, I still sold 'em too. The police put me in the teenager's jail few time and this is where my anger issues started. The guys started to bully me and I was tired to be beaten so I fought them back."
"Wow..." She was speechless by everything he said. Never she thought he would've open up like that to her and never she thought he would've been through hell.
"Wait, I'm not done... The last time I got out of the jail, people who I sold them the cheap drugs beat the shit out of me and tried to have their money back, but I didn't have it. I already used it to buy me food and new clothes. When they knew that, they started to making me their "dealer" to pay them back. I was the one who needed to go at the creepy places they were usually go to sell their stuff. I started to use guns, knives... I did kill people. Many of them. I had no choice. It was them or me and I know it was selfish, but I wanted to be alive. If I could go back I would sure go back to change it. I did all of this until I was almost eighteen and the Youth Protection found me. They helped me the best way they could do and made me finish the school. I studied to become the CEO I am today to prove them I was someone and I could have money. That I could be better than them and prove to my mom I'm not someone bad. I know she wouldn't be happy of what I did, but I needed to survive."
"I'm sure she would be proud of you." Layla finally said after few minutes of silence between them. "I mean look at you. You have many clubs in the US. You have houses all around the world and you can have all the girls you want. You won everything Sebastian. I'm sorry you needed to go through this."
"But I'm obsessed with only one girl." Sebastian looked into her magnificent eyes.
He said this sentence way too fast. The most awkward silence took place in the living room. She smiled weirdly to him before she deleted she links and moved away to open the Xbox.
"Wanna play?"
"You want to get your revenge from last time?"
"I remember that I won Sebastian. Don't try."
And he saw a real smile on her angelic face. She wasn't mad at him after the big revelation and he didn't understand. Every person would run away but she didn't. Why? Why was she smiling like that to him?
She was special. She wanted to play to Mario Kart with him. Which he definitely accepted, by the way. At the same time, it would change her mind about what happened few minutes ago.
"Tomorrow we will decorate the house for Christmas."
"Okay. But if you still talk, you'll loose again." She grinned.
He concentrated himself back on the screen. They played to the game for two maybe three hours before they stopped. He wanted to make her sing and what was better than a karaoke night?
[...]
They both sang all night and didn't see the time passing by. They had fun for the first time in a while. Made them forget about the problems for few hours. They also watched funny videos. Mostly about cats.
Layla had fun until she heard the door close. Her heartbeat started to race and she was sure Sebastian could hear it. She turned to him panicked and took his hand when she placed herself behind him.
"Men first."
He tightly pressed her hand against his and made sure she was close to him. Like if she was glued to him.
They were both anxious because who would come at this time? It was so early in the morning. He took his baseball bat with his left hand and continued his way to the noise. Sebastian was about to smash the person's head when all of them screamed of fear.
"Dammit Loren! You scared us!"
"Sorry, sir." Loren held her poor chest taking a breath "I wanted to come early to make breakfast for both of you."
"Oh..."
"Let me help you Loren." Layla said confidently with a warm smile and took a bag from her.
"I would love to."
They prepared everything to make the breakfast. It had so many thing they could feed the whole town. Loren made the bread and baked it. Once it was almost done, they cooked the eggs, the bacon, prepared the fruit salad...
"Are we feeding the whole country?"
"No, sir." They finished everything and both of them obligated Loren to eat with them. They ate in silence and cleaned. Sebastian was washing and Layla was drying the dishes.
And then... Sebastian had the most stupid idea. He sprinkled Layla with the dishwater. She looked at him with her mouth forming an O. She tried to whip him with the dish cloth back.
The little war continued for few minutes. She had the dirty foam on her hair and he needed to take off his shirt 'cuz it was soaked from the water. And she saw him. She saw his muscles and his scars. He was beautiful.
"Like the view dove?"
"I, huh... I-" She blushed.
What was she supposed to say? Yes? Because it was the truth. She loved the view he gave her. His perfectly sculpted body... she wanted to touch it. It looked unreal. How can someone look that good?
"Yes."
"Yes? Ooh, okay doll." He smirked before he left to take two other shirts. He threw one to her and she questioned him with her eyes.
"You're also soaked, darling."
The way he said darling made her melt. She felt like she was falling on the floor. Dang, why? She wanted to know why he had that much effect on her. They didn't really know each other... did they?
