Forbidden Lavender: Referring to Riko's Byakugan and how she is considered something unthinkable, and highly taboo. Given that Kumo were behind Hinata's Kidnapping and Hizashi's death. So a Hyuga child with a Kumo Nin, and brother to the Raikage, isn't exactly encouraged.

Name: Riko Hyuuga - meaning 'Lavender Child' in Japanese which links to her Byakugan being a light lavender colour, and her last name is the same as her mothers 'Hyuga' as well as the clan which means 'Towards the Sun'.

Background:

Because of Clan Politics, branch members of the Hyuga who possess the Byakugan all possess a seal on the forehead that is both used to protect their Do-jutsu from falling into enemy hands as well as to control them, should they ever turn against the head family. Riko's mother, who did not possess the Byakugan, was strongly against this as it was an abuse of power and threw trust within the clan out the window. She made her ideals known to the elders of the clan and tried to argue that at the very least, if the branch members must have the seal, then the main family should as well, given that they could just as easily loose their Do-jutsu out in the feild but was wholly shut down. After this, the elders made life for her as difficult as they could and ended up chasing her out the clan, thinking that since she didn't possess the Byakugan, they had nothing to worry about. She left the land of fire completely, and with no ninja training she chose to persued music. Along the line, she came across a bazar Kumo ninja with the tendency to Rap...CONSTANTLY. While he was odd, she found his quirkiness endearing and appreciated his funny unformal personality that was a far cry from the Hyuga who seemingly were all born with a rod up their arses. The two hit it off and after a night of passion, went their separate ways. Nine bloated months later, Riko was born...With the Byakugan. Against all expectations, she had inherited the Do-jutsu of her clan from her grandfather, it seemingly having skipped a generation with her mother, which put her in a very dangerous situation. Thinking back on her clan Politics and the life she would be bringing her back to, should she return to Konoha, her mother chose to keep her distance, knowing that as a branch member, her daughter would be forced to have the real on her forehead. But living as they were was also dangerous as the Do-jutsu wasn't easy to hide and very recognisable, which would later cause ninja from other nations to come after her. After much debate, Riko's mother decided to leave her with her father. In the dead of night, she travelled to Kumo and left little Riko at the Kumo entrance gate, leaving a note with her explaining her father had been from the village so she should be allowed citizenship and the characteristics of the man. With most citizens of Kumogakure having similar features of dark skin and light hair, this should have been a more difficult task to locate her father, however, once the gate guards read the note about a man who spoke with Rapping, their was no question as to who her parentage was. Riko was quickly taken to the Raikage, who in turn beat his brother senseless before the matter of the child's eyes came up. Having been asleep before she arrived, her Eyes had gone unnoticed, but once her father held her and she opened her eyes, so did a can of worms. Otherwise known as the Kumo Elders and council. B was already in the middle of a mental breakdown while Gyuki laughed at his host when the elders arrived and tried to get custody of the girl and gain possession of her Byakugan. Hearing this, B's non existent fatherly instincts kicked in and became very protective of his knew found daughter. A included, given that this child would be his niece. After a few weeks of the elders trying every means possible to legally and illegally gain possession of his daughter, B and Gyuki made a decision. He would seal a portion of Gyuki within his daughter, giving him full authority of what happens to her from then on and the elders would have no say in it. After sealing a part of the eight tails within Riko, the elders and council were furious as they had nothing else they could do, after arguing that B could never be a parent to the child and A too busy with his Kage duties, they thought they could finally get the girl. But as a Jinchuriki, only A and B would be able to train her properly so they were forced to give up and return to plotting against the Leaf Village Hyuga behind A's back. Two years after Riko's birth, the elders set a plan in action which lead to the attempted kidnapping of Hinata Hyuga and the death of Hizashi Hyuga, but still came out empty handed. After finding out what they had done, A killed them all, as they had compromised with treaty they had with the hidden leaf and lost trust in them. Unable to convince the Hokage that this hadn't been a plot by the Kage, A had to take a step back and Kumo stopped sending Genin to any foreign Chunin Exams for the next decade. Meanwhile, Riko was raised in the Raikage's Building where both A and B lived as A did not trust his brother to be able to care for a baby all on his own and possibly rise the child turning out like him... he had enough to deal with with one rapping Jinchuriki. He did NOT need another. Riko was thus trained by her father, Uncle and Yugito, the two tails Jinchuriki before later joining her fathers two man Genin team to the hidden leaf village to participate in the Chunin exams.
