Name: Yuzuki Dai - meaning 'Citron' in Japanese. The flower is also known as the 'Buddha's Hand Flower' because the flower mimics a meditative post the Buddha once did. The Flower usually symbolises 'Luck' and 'Happiness' but can also make great symbols of 'Beauty', 'Grace' and 'Simplicity'. Their are also Citrus Fruits. The Buddha part can be linked to Buddhism and their belief of Reincarnation, the other meanings linking to Yuzuki's personality, looks and mannerisms. Her last name means 'To Wear' in Chinese and 'Number one' or 'First' in Japanese, but in this instance it named after the historical Chinese figure 'Xin Zhui', also known as Lady Dai, who lived up to 163 BC and known for her love of food and is believed to have thought the afterlife to be an eternal banquet. She also happens to be the most well preserved mummy found at over 2000 years old.

Background:

Yuzuki Dai, former modern world high class chef in our world who came to an untimely death from poison consumed to save a friend. She reawakens after being reborn as a civilian in the Narutoverse, in a small village in the land of fire outside any of the hidden villages and had to resign herself to a world without the technology and appliances to create the kinds of food she is used to. Her village, located on the borders of the land of fire and the land of waves, suffers from frequent bandit attacks and lack of food. With it being close to the borders and near the waters of the land of waves, it both gets overlooked by Konohagakure and harassed by Gato and his group similar to the people of the land of waves. The villagers unable to contact the hidden village because of the bandits surrounding the area and Gato trapping them in. They being practically forgotten by the land of fire. Because of all this, the village is strife with starvation and crime from those who are desperate to get whatever food can be found within the village. For Yuzuki, this is unacceptable as both a chef and someone who cares greatly for the village and its health. Because of the conditions she lived in, she quickly picked up a multitude of skills such as hunting, trapping, tracking, haggling, scouting and evasion just from her every day to day life to keep herself and her family alive. Adding chakra into this lead to her becoming more ninja than villager, only without any of the formal training. Thanks to her prier knowledge of the world, she knew of the existance of chakra and to make life easier for her, she managed to open up her chakra coils and train to increase it so she could look after the village more effectively and hopefully protect the villagers if need be. She would go out into the forest to gather berries, nuts and herbs as well as set out traps, plant easy to grow crops outside the village away from prying eyes and go fishing in lakes and the sea for fish and clams which she harvested and used to cook recipes from her old world, some of her own and dishes native to her village and the other lands to help feed the villagers in a small café that sold food at a very low price. She managed to figure out a technique to imbued her chakra within the ingredients of food to enhance their affects and flavour to both make them taste better but help keep up the health of the villagers for longer periods of time in a place that is sparse of food. When Yuzuki is around 12 years old, a squad of Konoha Genin arrive in the village for a C rank mission. The small group comprising of a black haired bearded man with a cigarette never too far away from his mouth, a slouched pineapple of a boy, a blond girl wearing who's far too loud for comfort and a chubby brown haired boy with a bag of chips. The group try to question the villagers but get nothing, being sent fearful, suspicious or destructive looks any everyone in the village. the group eventually find themselves in the small café run by yuzuki and she recognises them from the show she used to watch before her death though she doesn't go out of her way to interact with them, having lived 12 years in the village and conditions to not trust unfamiliar faces. Team 10 order their food and are reasonable shocked at the quality, especially from such a run down village and the food even impresses the Akimichi who's clan is known for their love of food. After spending more time in the small village the team realise that the villagers abhorrence towards them runs much deeper than the usual fear of ninja's one would expect from a rural civilian town. They are eventually offered a place to stay by Yuzuki in the top floor of the cafe where she lives and while staying there, they observe the town and the interactions between them, Yuzuki and Gato's men. they realise that Yuzuki is more than she shows but isn't a threat to them and they gather the answers they need for their mission. They are eventually able to rid the area of bandits as well as deal with the aftermath of Gato's group fleeing the land of waves thanks to team 7 who had passed through the village before they came across the village and would remain in the land of waves until the bridge between the land of waves and fire is complete. Yuzuki offers lunches to team 10 before they head back to Konoha and the food she gives them is the chakra enhanced version only she knows how to do. By the time they return, they still have some left and Chouza, Shikaku and Inoichi get the chance to try some when offered by their kids, it is them that realise that their is something weird about the food, likely Chouza. Team 10 not having realised it themselves until it had been pointed out to them. This leads to then talking to the Hokage and team ten given another mission to go back to the village and possibly bring Yuzuki to Konoha.
