Name: Mori Kinusuke - meaning 'Forest' in Japanese and is a unisex name but is also in the official name of a Domestic Moth species called 'Bombyx Mori'. Her last name means 'Silk' from 'Kinu' and 'Help' or 'A Helper' from 'Suke'.

Background:

Mori Kinsuke is a member of a noble clan based in the Capitol of the Land of Fire who have served the Daimyo for centuries as their supplier for silks and high quality clothes, as well as secret spy masters. In the daylight, they appear to be a non combat based clan who harvest silk from silk worms which they spin into Kimono and other high quality goods, feeding them mulberry leaves from a forest they own in the land of fire. behind closed doors however, they use their contract with the moth summons who they have a symbiotic relationship with to gather information from around the elemental nations as well as infultrate high society to gether intel others would not usually get the chance to gain access too. Originally, Mori had been engadged to Sasuke Uchiha, as a way to strengthen Konoha's ties to the Daimyo who has high favour of the Kinsuke clan, however, after the Uchiha Massacare, Mori's parents took back the engagment and she was placed in a political engagment with the Aburame clan instead, and thus, engadged to Shino. She ends up moving to Konoha for a time while the rest of her clan remain in the capital and she is enrolled into the ninja academy as a curtesy. Their, she struggles to make friends as many of the girls remember her former engagment with Sasuke and see her as competition, and she is too quiet to really get along with the boys. She ends up getting closer with Shino and Hinata during this time after Shino is pushed by his father to interact with her despite being both nervous and disinterested out of the assumption she would be afraid of his bugs.

Blurb:

Mori Kinsuke, the daughter of a noble clan located in the capital of the land of fire, is engadged to Sasuke Uchiha for political reasons. After the Uchiha massacare however, the engagment is rescinded and offered to the Aburame. Now living in Konoha, Mori is determined to befriend her betrothed while avoiding the ire of both Sasuke, who took her reengagement as an insult, and his fangirls who still see her as a rival.

Mori is fed up with people treating her poorly for decisions she had no say in, and is equally fed up with others making decisions for her, so she sets out to befriend her betrothed with the intention of becoming more than political allies. She doesn't dare to wish for love, but surely friends wouldn't be too much to ask for, right?

Suggestions:

Mori had visited Konoha in the past while she was still engadged to Sasuke, however the two didn't get along as Sasuke didn't like that he was engadged and thought she was just another annoying girl, and Mori found him rude and didn't appreciate the negative attention she got from the girls around him when she'd rather be anywhere else.

After the incident and the engagment is broken off by her family, Sasuke takes this as an insult when he hears about it, and doesn't like her even more. Mori however only pities Sasuke since she understands that he has lost so much and has no real outlet for his emotions and anger other than a brother who's location is unknown.

While at the academy, Mori ends up becoming close to Hinata, who's family had been close to hers for the past few generations. If Hinata had been born male, then they would have been engadged instead of Sasuke and later Shino. 

Might have it so that she doesn't go the the academy at all, as to keep up the ruse that the Kinsuke clan is a non combat clan, or at least, while she is there, do the bear minimum to keep up the apperance that she is just a noble lady. She is strong, but must hide it from the public.

only the Kinsuke clan's trusted allied are aware of their true power and potensial, which had included Sasuke's parents before their death, though Sasuke is still unaware. Shino's parents are aware as well as a few of the other clan heads and the Hokage and advisors. 

might have it so Danzo makes moves at one point to pressure Shibi into using the Kinsuke clan to his advantage. possibly threatening Shino while doing so or using Torune.

Mori's mother is close friends with the Fire Daimyo's wife and they often meet together. As such, Mori has met Tora the cat before and the Cat has come to trust her, even going as far as to run away, simply to find her.

When Mori and Shino grow closer and Shino sees Sasuke treating her poorly while he clearly doesn't know anything about her, Shino feels offended on her behalf and his opinion of Sasuke plummets as he becomes more protective of his close friend and future wife. 

Could have it so that Shino has no interest in relationships or having a wife, but is simply following what is expected of him from his clan. Mori on the other hand wants a marriage with love and is determined to convince Shino to see her as more than a wife for convenience and a simple friend.

Love Interests?

~ Sasuke Uchiha - Since they already had an engagment placed, theirs already something to go off of. it would be interesting to see the two grow closer once Sasuke overcomes his bias hatred towards Mori because of his own assumptions. Could also change it so that Mori would have been engadged to Itachi previously instead and the proposal is shifted to Sasuke after the incident and accepted by the village elders without his say so.

~ Shikamaru Nara - I can see Shikamaru finding out about the true abilities and power of the Kinsuke clan and gaining respect for Mori while the other kids remain oblivious. She is quiet and not overbearing as well as smart enough to hold meaningful conversations with Shikamaru so I can see them getting along fairly well.

~ Neji Hyuga - Place her in an engadgement with Neji instead, though Neji will likely be more angst than Sasuke so she will have a lot more work cut out for her with convincing Neji to take her seriously and try an actual healthy relationship a try.

~ Choji Akimichi - Choji is a complete sweetheart and deserves all he love in the world. I can see his clan having ties to the captital with their formar Samurai status and being one of the noble clans of Konoha. I can also see Choji going out of his way to learn more about Mori and try for an actual relationship despite it being political once he speaks to Shikamaru and goes through his options. It would be interesting to see the Ino Shika Cho try to spy on Mori to see if she is worth getting close to perhaps?
