Chapter 20: the inventors search

Picking up at Izuku looking for clues to see where jinx is and his search ending at her hideout where she ends up at usually

I scavenged the lab for anything I could find on jinx, what was done to her, the possible effects, hell if she was even alive

The doctor began waking up, not that he could move very far due to my very own invention the 'shimmer field' due to my research I managed to figure out that shimmer seems to be an unhealthy alternative to hextech gemstones and crystals

So it could be utilised similarly, and if composed correctly could change the human anatomy in mysterious ways like super speed, super strength, extra stretchy, bouncy and the list does go on and on

But I had managed to create some devices like 'shimmer field' which was just a "clever" way of saying it is a force field, a barrier to keep him in and myself out, which because of shimmer I had managed to make sure the only weakness resided from any harm due to the captive making it a two person escape much easier to deal with than a one person, the only thing it didn't stop were sound or things extremely close to it

This would be extremely useful for large scale, for noxun or Stillwater, which protects against anything.. it was one of my best works though.. the name needed to be reworked

Signed: w-where am I

I looked towards him and looked back at the table seeing where jinx had laid down before

Me: what's the last thing you remember doctor

He sat against the shimmer field wall and began to think

Signed: I remember trying to help Silco and his blue haired friend

Silco and jinx.. good that's pretty recent

Signed: then I saw jinx wake up I went to tell Silco but.. it soon all went black

So she's alive.. that's good.. that's good

Me: I need to know a few things so could you answer a few questions and before I leave I'll let you out

He looked at the barrier he was surrounded in clearly impressed with it

Signed: what is this made out of.. it looks like shimmer? This is innovative I have never seen anything like it

I nodded at the recognition I got from signed which was huge he had big and exceptionally unique expectations

Me: it's made of shimmer energy, if you treat the very compound element like an arcane crystal then the wonders possible with it is.. vast

He nodded prepared to help it seemed

Signed: proceed with questions

I nodded looking at the syringe that had been on the table which strapped jinx to the table

Me: first of all what was done to her, I need to know what was injected to her and why she required to be strapped down

He murmured and soon answered rather quietly

Signed: shimmer, a new variant, and the strapping was due to the immense pain it causes

Damn.. a new variant that can help restore a person which likely means it has boosted the healing factor of the body immensely that would hurt like a bitch

Me: right what are these?

I pointed towards a bunch of equipment though I'm pretty sure I could guess on what it was making it pretty pointless

Signed: shimmer refinery equipment, to create new variants

I looked over the rest of the clues I had and saw no other place she could go.. it was to her hideout so placed a shimmer boot enhancer on both my boots and turned it on

Me: I thank you doctor signed

I turned off the shimmer field and stepped out the door, looking over to where I left Silco resting he had disappeared likely back home or something

Now having shimmer boot enhancer wasnt something I did purposely to invent something but it made someone go faster and allowed quite a bit of strength and momentum to flow through the legs and still allows someone to speed up which I'll need thanks to this entire shit show

So now running faster, preforming parkour quicker, and basically flying through the streets of the undercity from signeds lab to jinxes hideout

I was now worried I have put everything into place everything just needs to fall exactly where I need it to for this last stretch which I hadn't expected to be placed so well

Feels like a real life game of chess or something kind of fun, kind of tense, and kind of a lot of things so when I reached jinxes hideout and didn't see her you bet I had been feeling a sense of failure and worry

Would Vi be able to keep her temper, Caitlyn be able to use the device in time, Silco be pushed enough, Jayce regretful enough.. the only thing that needs to happen that'll work.. is this.. if anything worked before it better now

I sighed sitting down in the chair jinx had me in before looking at the binds she had me in I held them looking around and saw "Mylo" and "Claggor"

Which had been a quick reminder of what the memories we had together were but a few stood out, maybe because they were the most recent ones

ones despite our differences we had all been together like famiky us, Vander, everyone really in the lanes as long as your excluding Servika and her team

It was so much better then, so much simpler, if I knew things would play out like that.. would I be able to change things.. would I? What would happen I'm curious.. Ekko might actually be more useful to his own group

Leaving myself with a little chuckle about the small joke I made to my self about Ekko and the firelights as I had done a lot for them

Plans they asked for
Tactics they needed
Hideouts they wanted
Information that interested them

I never really was part of the fire lights I was more of an associate not really with them but not really not with them more of a bland grey area which held the white and black differences of Enforcers, Firelights, and Silcos people from destroying each other

That role had always been an exhausting one but.. it may be finally paying off as the final legs of the falling into place is happening.. I may not be the master of predicting people but.. I was second best which may as well be one

Sadly Nedzu took that role I was just more versatile with my work while Nedzu predicted things though he never could predict jinx as she had been known for her wild unpredictability, craziness, and so on

It was difficult for a normal person to describe her anyways.. I suppose I should continue my search for jinx.. now where could she be

I flung myself up and walked and walked through out the under ground looking for jinx or powder which ever I find first.. hopefully powder.. jinx is probably little too unstable right now.. then Anglian now is exactly the time to be unstable..
