"I think it's too

"I think it's too... flashy." Ana twirled once in the dress.

The worker looked like she was going to shoot herself.

We'd been looking at dresses for the last two hours. I was beginning to get annoyed with the worker.

I wanted everything to be perfect for Ana. I wasn't about to tell her to just pick one so we could leave.

It was a little funny that the previous dress was almost exactly the same but somehow too boring but it wasn't my dress so I didn't question it.

Ana was handed another dress and went to change again. I pulled out my phone since she hadn't seemed to want my opinion so far.

I had to find out who this damn dinosaur person was. I'd been looking for the last month and a half but I was desperate now that the wedding was getting closer.

Ana's phone rang with a call from Jesús. She yelled for me to answer it.

I stepped out of the room. I'd never spoken with any of her brothers before.

I answered the call and he spoke before I could. "Hey, I won't be able to do coffee later. I'm sorry-"

"Do you normally speak over people when you call them?" I responded automatically. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. My brain is still on work mode." I scolded myself when I realized my first words to my 'second favorite' person were a snide remark.

He laughed. "I assume you're Rosa then."

"You assume correctly. I've made a wonderful first impression."

"Don't beat yourself up, first impressions aren't very important to me, and I feel like I already know you from how much she talks about you. To answer your earlier question, I only start talking immediately with Ana. She doesn't like answering calls-."

"It makes her anxious." I cut him off. "I guess I do the same thing for her."

"Like I said, I feel like I already know you. We should probably arrange something soon though. It would be a little strange for us all to meet at the wedding."

I pulled out my phone to look at my schedule. Between the work, I needed to do and the time I wanted to spend with my mother I didn't have any open days.

"Yeah. I'll try and make time."

"Ana said you were busy. My younger brothers will have to fly in from America so it doesn't have to be soon. Just let her or I know in advance." His tone was formal. The way he spoke to me now had changed completely since I answered the phone.

Unfortunately, I recognized what the change in tone meant. "You don't have to be afraid of me. In fact, I'd prefer it if you weren't."

"I'm not afraid of you." His words were rushed. I liked it when people tried to lie to me. It was amusing.
