Trigger Warning: Death, abduction.
...

I ran my fingers through my dripping hair.

Everything was in place. I just had to order the kill on Accardo.

His sons would be taken and held for a week at most. I would swoop in and save them before any serious damage could be done.

I didn't want to capture them, but I didn't really have another choice. If I had Italy on my side anyone who disagreed with my position would be forced to follow me.

Scotland was a nice ally but it was not Italy.

I needed Italy.

I would get Italy.

I scrubbed the shampoo into my hair. Everything I ever wanted was within my reach.

Warm arms wrapped around me from behind. "Thinking about Italy?" Ana set her head on my shoulder.

"It's that or you." I spun around. "I thought you were tired?"

She leaned into my chest and closed her eyes. "I am, but I miss you."

I grabbed her shampoo and started to wash her hair so she wouldn't have to do it in the morning. "You'll be seeing a lot more of me now, I promise."

She sighed. "Don't promise things like that, we both know how quickly things can change."

I bit the inside of my cheek. "A chain reaction of bad would have to happen, you will see more of me."

"I won't hold it against you if I don't, I know you're trying." She mumbled.

"Do you not believe me?" I frowned.

She opened her eyes and looked up at me. "I believe in you with everything I have. I don't believe the universe will let us be happy."

I turned off the shower after I finished washing the soap from her hair. "I will beat the universe then."

"You can't shoot it." She smiled.

I wrapped a towel around her. "You don't know that," I smirked.

"What are you going to do? Shoot at the sky?" She giggled.

"Maybe." I shrugged.

I quickly put on my clothes and pulled Ana into the bedroom. "If there's a weakness in the sky, I'd be the one to find it."

"True." She kissed my cheek.

She moved away towards the closet but I pulled her back and wrapped my arms around her.

She frowned. "I need clothes."

"I disagree." I leaned down and kissed her jaw. "I prefer you this way."
