"Did you know there's a gay mafia leader?" Ana looked at me over her taco

"Did you know there's a gay mafia leader?" Ana looked at me over her taco.

"Yeah. He's been out for a while. The media says he's bi but I've never seen a photo of him with a woman." I laughed slightly. "I used to be disgusted by him. Now I almost see him as a sign of hope."

"When you get into power can we meet him? He's got a good sense of style." She handed me her phone.

There was a picture of him, it looked to be the front of a magazine. There wasn't really anything special about his outfit other than his tie.

It was white and had multiple sketches of the same dinosaur in different colors and sizes.

I recognized it from somewhere but I couldn't point it out.

I looked up at Ana. "Have you seen this dinosaur anywhere?" I zoomed in on the tie and showed her the screen.

"No." She wiped the food off of her face. "Why?"

"It feels familiar but I can't tell where it's from." I turned the phone back around.

I pulled my phone out and looked through my camera roll. It was probably a brand design or something of the sort.

I handed Ana's phone back to her.

"Do you think it's something important?" Ana wiped more sauce off her face.

I half-smiled. She was a surprisingly messy eater.

Then I caught a glance of her ring.

I pulled the note from my pocket. I didn't know why I had kept it with me but now I was glad I did.

I unfolded the note and set it down on the table.

The pictures matched.

I jumped up in my seat as I was hit by a wave of emotions.

I grabbed my phone and searched for the name of this man's god-forsaken company.

For a second I thought I should feel grateful.

Then I thought of what he and his people did to my home. How they made my mother feel.

For God's sake, he ransacked my room.

He saw all of the letters. He must've read some of them.

He very likely could've read them all.

All of my deepest secrets and confessions were in those letters and many of Ana's.

I dialed the first number I saw.

A very polite woman with a Scottish accent answered. "Hello, this is-."

"I need to speak to your boss. Now." I cut her off.

Ana looked up at me with confusion.

I pushed the rest of my tacos towards her and she put her attention on that.

"I'm sorry, Mr. F-."

"Tell him my name is Rosa Sanchez and if he doesn't answer me right the Hell now I'm going to murder him and everyone he loves." The malice in my tone made Ana jump slightly.

"Please hold." The receptionist squeaked.

I rubbed the back of Ana's hand as I waited.

"I was wondering when you'd call." A man's voice spoke on the phone. "I wouldn't have guessed you were a hostile person from the letters I read."

...

She was practically shaking with rage

She was practically shaking with rage.

I almost wanted to ask who she was talking to but I decided against it.

I'd never heard her swear this much. Especially not at someone.

After about twenty minutes of her yelling, she went silent.

She listened to the phone for a while and then sat down in her chair.

Suddenly, she laughed. "You want an alliance? How stupid do you think I am."

She adjusted in her chair slightly while she listened.

"I hadn't thought about that." She mumbled.

She looked at me across the table for a moment.

"Fine." She hung up the phone and stood up.

"We're leaving." She put her phone in her jacket.

"What happened." I stood up.

"We have an alliance with the Scottish mafia." She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the parking lot.

"Wh- how did that happen? Who did you call?"

She looked back at me briefly. "I kept all the letters you wrote to me under my floorboards so they wouldn't be seen. I also kept the ring there. The morning before I proposed I went to retrieve it and someone had left a note with my things. It was signed with that dinosaur."

"What did the note say?" I stopped.

She turned to me. "It said to go get you."

Tears started to form in my eyes. I didn't even know why. "So, so the leader of the Scottish Mafia knows everything I told you in those letters?"

"From what I've heard, yes." She wiped the tears from my face. "But he was in the house looking for dirt on my father, once he learned my stance on the matter he offered to help me once I gained power."

"In other words, we can trust him?" I sniffled.

"In other words." She took a deep breath. "I am not alone anymore."

...
This one was kinda short compared to my normal chapters.

I also don't really like it but it's whatever.
