Moonbyul-yi's POV

I thought things would be okay to overstep the boundary for once, now I seem to feel obsessed with the feeling and want to try to get through the line again.

I took a big puff of my cigarette as I watch how everyone's playing with the kids on the swings ... including her. They have mini playgrounds in their backyard so we don't have to drive 15 minutes to the public park.

It's funny how she's been avoiding me all morning and I have a feeling she'll do so for the rest of the trip. I unconsciously smiled bitterly. What level of pettiness am I supposed to go through?

She must've noticed I was staring at her when she glanced at me and quickly diverted her eyes away from me the moment she realized her assumptions were right.

"Tch." I clicked my tongue. Now look whose playing around like this? I'm done eating her harsh words.  I don't have to swallow them and dwell on it.

I know things like this confuses the sh*t out of her but she needs to understand that I'm not here to put up a silly game and play 'friends with benefits' with her. I'm here to take what should've been mine from the start.

I'm still a little tired and sleepy so I headed back inside first before anybody else. I have to find a way to end this chasing game somehow.

Maria's POV

Everything surprisingly went well during the whole vacation. We had a lot of fun things done during the whole stay including putting up fireworks on christmas eve, receiving gifts from Swithene and taking videos, pictures and most importantly enjoying feast. Everything went well but except for the fact of how Byul and Swithene has been acting towards each other.

Yesterday, all of us noticed how Swithene unexpectedly slept in when usually she wakes up the earliest and Wendy told me Byul came back in their room at about 2 in the morning,  showering before coming to bed with Wendy.

She told me she asked where Byul went and Byul said she was out to have a smoke and walked around the area. I mean that could happen but based on what Wendy saw, according to her, she told me Byul looks a little too exhausted as if she went for a run outside and even snored in her sleep.

And when both woke up late, they started acting so weird even Yong and Wendy agrees with me. Swithene remained at about 4-5 feet away from her meanwhile Byul is acting like she find nothing wrong with Swithene's sudden Moonbyul-phobia and that's what's weird!

The youngsters were too occupied on the fun and was thankfully too oblivious of what was going on. But for us who clearly know about our friend's whereabouts, it's impossible not to notice the change of behavior because I thought they went to buy groceries together so I expected a little bonding time and catching up on things but instead they suddenly turned out like this, acting like strangers.

Today is the last day of our stay here and were already here eating breakfast. The silence was too deafening, all I could hear were subtle chewing and the small clanking of utensils and the wood breaking in the fire. The three of us managed to pretend like we didn't notice about the weird tension going on around this house since yesterday.  I know we had to ask Swithene what was going on when we get home.

"Okay! Since it's the last day, does anyone have any plans on what were gonna do today before we go home?" Yong announced. For the first time, I'm very thankful Yong opened her mouth since the moment we got here because people started chatting about it. The silence seconds ago feels so suffocating.

"I'm sorry to say this but I just got a call from the office. I need to get back by the afternoon to catch up a dinner meeting."

We held the same expression when Byul announced, "But it's Sunday though and christmas was just yesterday. Don't you have at least a day to rest?" I said. She gave me a sad smile. "People like me don't have day offs like most people when it comes to business meeting or work in general and my secretary forgot to clear out my schedule for the third day so what's scheduled for today will push through." All sighed at the unfortunate announcement as she scanned her phone. D*mn that secretary. Oops.

"Okay." Swiden curtly replied. WHY IS SHE SUDDENLY ACTING LIKE SHE DOESN'T KNOW BYUL? SHE'S EVEN AVOIDING EYE CONTACT WITH HER! AND SHE'S EVEN SPEAKING FORMALLY.

"But.. I don't want to leave Lisanna behind." Genesis grabbed Lisanna's arm and delicately hugged themselves as if they don't want to be separated. I know Lisanna was the first friend Genesis ever had that is on the same age level as her so I understand how much she wants to be with Lisanna.

"Maria Unnie..." Lisanna gave her the ultimate puppy eyes to fix the issue. I sighed. Sorry kids, the decision is not on me.

"It's alright kids. We can cancel today's event for now and move it to another day. How's that sound?" We immediately snapped at Swithene's direction.

"Are you sure? It's really not necessary to do this. Genesis is a very understanding kid, I know she'll underst-"

"We came here together, We're going home together."  Swithene said.

"No, I don't want to be an inconvenience. My family can go early and the rest of you can enjoy the day. I'll have our driver pick us up so the van is in your use." Why do I feel like were in the center of a push and pull argument?  Me and Yong looked at each other.

"Miss Moon, trust me. This is not something we should be arguing about." Misss Moon? Why is this b*tch acting formal again! Wendy and Yong shared a look. Something must've happened I swear to the skies.

"We're not arguing." she turned to look at Swithene with a serious gaze. I awkwardly cleared my throat and nudged at Yong unnie to say something.

"I-I think Swithene has a good point. It wouldn't sound right to enjoy without you guys. We came here together so we go home together." Majority agreed with Yong. I nodded my head. NICE ONE UNNIEEEE!!!

We honestly don't find any problem cancelling today's event since there's actually really no plans made for today. I understand Byul's point of view and right now we have to reconsider that most of us have responsibilities we can't run away from.

Byul's stopped and took a second to think about it. We're not sure if we accidentally hurt her pride as a an organized business woman because of this mishap but nevertheless she sighed, "Alright. But please allow me to compensate this unfortunate situation with a nice dinner on New Year's eve. Would the Callisto Space be a good place to eat?" Both our jaw literally dropped to the floor.

"Did.. Did we heard it right?" Yong's eyes literally sparkled to the thought of it.

"Of coarse. It's on me." she confirmed. I'VE HEARD OF CALLISTO SPACE! It literally ranked 1st for 4 years straight in the yearly line-up of the most prestigious Hotel and Suites of The Continent because of it's unique and luxurious structure and have been very popular ever since the Duchess of another country personally recommended the place!

"I'll contribute too. I think it's possible to split the bill-"

"That's not happening." Byul immediately cut off Swithene's idea firmly. I could see Swithene's frown from the back of my head. Of coarse I'd know that would hurt Swithene's pride as a business woman and a low-key feminist. At this point, both look like they're not backing down with each other's suggestions anytime soon.

"I think that splitting bills are not a bad thing . I can pay for their food too." she reasoned.

"I know lov- Swiden but it's my idea to compensate them with a nice dinner party." All of us shared a knowing look. Was Byul about to call her another name or—

"I know that but I really see nothing wrong with paying half of the bill. Why are you suddenly being difficult?" her brows furrowed.

"I'm not being difficult.  I just want to compensate this day properly."

"And what's wrong with helping out splitting the bills?!"

"Please.. Swiden tone down. Let's not argue infront of the kids." Byul massaged on her temples in frustration. At this point we're only audiences watching couples fight over a dinner party. Swithene's face soften as she realized everyone is practically watching and shrunk back to her seat.

"You know at this point I think paying for our own food would be the best solution."  Yong awkwardly chuckled and looked at me.

"Absolutely not." Both strictly declined in unison. I shook my head.

Jeez... There's really no need to be hot tempered in the morning..
