Chapter 5: Well That Was Unexpected

Jiro's POV:
After I was done eating, I quickly got dressed and left for school. While walking there, I thought of all the bad things that would happen to me if I were to live on my own without my parents guidance.

What if when I tried calling them, they didn't answer? What if I forgot to take care of myself? What if everything becomes too much for me and I ended up killing myself? What if I never found love? What if I died alone? What if my friends got tired of me and stopped visiting?

While walking to school I saw Denki.

"Hey, Jiro, what's up?" He asked.

"Nothing much just walking to school." I said.

"Yeah same here!" He said.

We walked for a while in silence. I really didn't want to talk to him, I was in a bad mood.

"Hey Jiro, is something wrong, you seem distant.." He said.

I got upset, "why do you care, it's none of your business!"

He started getting upset too, "I-I was just worried about you, jeez, can't friends just worry about each other!"

I sighed, "s-sorry, I'm just in a bad mood today."

He looked at me with worry, "why's that?"

"Because we're turning eighteen soon and once we do we're gonna have to move out of our parents house and I really don't wanna leave them because I'll miss them.."

I sighed again, I thought he would laugh at me for still relying on my parents, but it was the opposite, "I hear you, I don't wanna leave my parents either. I considered staying with them forever, but I know that's not an option and I'm scared of being alone."

I looked at him surprised, he reminded me of myself. Before I could say anything, he looked at me with sadness in his eyes, "before you say anything, I know it's stupid, but I don't care because that's how much I love my parents. I would stay with them forever if I could and nothing you say will ever change my mind."

I looked at him with a light smile, "No it's fine, I feel the same actually. If I could, I would stay with my parents forever, I can't stand the thought of being alone or being without them, because I love them so much."

Denki looked at me and I'm pretty sure he blushed, he never looked at me like that before.

'Did he like me?' I thought to myself, 'What?! No way! He would never like someone like me.'

Just then, I heard a noise, after thinking for a bit I realized what it was, it was a ticking bomb, "KAMINARI, GET OUT OF THE WAY!" I screamed.

Sadly, Denki had slow reflexes and the bomb was about to go off, without giving a second thought, I pushed myself and Denki out the way.

When I pushed him out of the way I fell on top of him. After seeing the position we were in, we both blushed.

"Hey you! What do you think you're doing!" Denki said looking away from me.

I looked in the direction he was looking at and saw a villain who just stole some jewelry.

When the villain realized he's been caught he started laughing. "You'll never catch me!" He said while running away, me and Denki ran after him.

Denki zapped the man so he became stunned, then he fainted from the shock, and Denki laughed, "you're not going anywhere buddy!"

While he was on the ground, I picked him up and grabbed his arm and looked at Denki, "come on let's take this man to jail."

The man grabbed my arm, and begged for his life, "please give me another chance!"

"Sorry buddy, but you already got your chance to being good, but you messed up so now you're going to jail." Denki said helping me pick him up.

The man got mad at him, "YOU BRAT, YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!"

I sighed, "well that's what you get for being a villain, don't you know that villains never win."

The man grumbled under his breath and while me and Denki were taking him to jail and Denki  became confused, "hey, why did he only get mad at me, you're the one who restrained him, if it wasn't for you he would've got away."

"Yeah, but if you didn't zap him he would've got away, so technically you're the one who restrained him." I said, "and honestly I didn't really do anything, I wasn't even in a mood to fight, and I couldn't have done anything because I didn't have my gear, so of course he would be mad at you."

"Yeah, but his personality was confusing, one second he was confident in himself thinking he could get away, then he started begging for his life and then he got mad at me. If he was really mad at me, it would've been the opposite reaction where he was confident, got mad at me and then begged for his life." Denki said.

I thought for a moment, "now that you mentioned it, his reaction seemed a bit off.."

We both looked at the villain hoping he would provide answers, "don't look at me, I'm not saying nothing!"

Finally, we got to the police station and told them everything that had happened. "Oh I see," the police man said, "don't worry kids, we'll interview him and see why he was acting like that along with his other motivations and we'll also call you're teacher and explain why you're late."

"Okay thanks a lot." Denki said.

"Now hurry up," the police man said, "you don't wanna be more late then you already already are."

"Thanks again." We said at the same time.

While walking to school I felt light headed and cold. I felt sick as well. Denki was trying to talk to me, but I drowned out his voice, I just wanted to go to bed. Then, everything turned black...
