High Card

Metropolis Mall

Its a busy day. People moving about from stall to stall, shop to shop. Bags clattering together, shoes squeaking on the floor and change chiming in peoples pockets. A woman walks up to one of the stalls. She places her arm on the glass top her her metal wrist bracelet resting on the glass. Her silver hair flows down her back her black top and dark jeans giving her a goth punk look. She asked the stall owner how much for a pair of glasses the Irish accent showing she was clearly new to the city. The stall owner smiles as he pulls out a pair of glasses with Hugo Buss written on the side. He puts them on the counter and list of a price. The woman picks up the glasses to get a better look at them. As She does she starts to hear some commotion coming from the doorways of the mall. She looks over to see multiple thugs walking in from each of the entrances each holding machine guns. A security guard pulls out his side arm and begins to move towards the thugs. Without hesitation one of the thugs shoots the guard in the chest, instantly killing him. He shoots a few more bullets into the air demanding that nobody else tries anything. Everyone in the mall stops what they are doing and raises their hands. A few of the thugs starts to walk round the shops and stalls gathering money into bags. One of the thugs walked up to the woman at the stall noticing her bracelet. He pointed to the bracelet telling her to give it to him. The woman instantly refused causing the thug to point the gun to her head. Suddenly, the two thugs at the door fly across the room. The rest of the thug look to doors where Supergirl now stands. The thugs turn and start to fire at Supergirl. The bullets start to hit her the shrapnel bouncing onto the floor, leaving a puddle of bullets below Supergirl's feet. She looks at the thugs counting seven, two on the top floor, two on the escalator and three on the bottom floor. She flew up to the top floor, grabbing the gun and pushing the thug across the floor. She threw the gun across the mall hitting the other thug on the top floor, knocking him out. She leaped over the railing landing on the bottom of the escalator causing the thugs on it to fall over the sides. She turns around to the last three thugs. Supergirl smiles as she rushes into the first thug causing him to go crashing through a glass stall. Before anyone can react she zooms over to the second thug grabbing her gun and elbowing her through a wooden bench. The last thug still next to the woman grabs her pointing his gun to her head in a last attempt to escape.

"Don't come any closer or she dead" the thug screams shaking as he hold his hostage. Supergirl notices a chance and speeds over to the thug putting her hand in front of barrel, the gun exploding in her hand. The thug fell backwards as Supergirl makes sure the woman is okay. The thug tries to crawl away, he doesn't make it far before Supergirl picks him up by the collar lifting him into the air. He started to scream as she lifted him higher and higher into the air.

"You were hurting these people for money. Making them feel fear. Now you will feel fear" Supergirl snarled at him. She dropped him, he landed on his feet his legs breaking on impact. Supergirl landed in front of him as he screamed. She looked at the other thugs around the mall each in different stages of pain. Some of the customers started to cheer and clap as some looked in fear. She zoomed out of the mall as police and medics rushed in to help. One of the medic ran over to the woman who had just been taken hostage.

"Are you alright miss?" the medic asks waiting for a reply.

"Miss Smythe, Siobhan Smythe" She said with a smile.

The Daily Planet

The office was quiet. Lois Lane was sitting at her desk tapping her notepad looking at the board on her wall. The board was covered with photos and notes on Maxwell Lord. Lois was staring at the board when Cat Grant walked over to her. They started to speak asking how each other was getting on with their stories when Jimmy Olsen ran over to them with his camera in hand.

"Hey you two need to see this" Jimmy says as he shows them the camera. The picture on the camera is of Supergirl dropping the thug from the mall. Cat and Lois sigh after looking at the picture shaking their heads.

"So that's another one" Lois says exasperated as she slumps down in her chair. "How many is that now?" Lois questions. Cat quickly walks over to her desk and comes back with a pile of pictures. She skims through the pictures counting them out as she goes.

"This one makes it eighteen now" Cat says shaking her head. They look at the photos of Supergirl going to extreme measures to stop criminals. From dropping the thug in the mall to crushing a crook's hand. Reports had been coming in that Supergirl had been being more aggressive despite saving multiple people. Cat was in charge of covering all things Supergirl since she had appeared on the scene. A Lot of people had been cut due to the disappearance of Maxwell Lord, including Kara.

On Top Of The Daily Planet

Kara stood on top of the Daily Planet in her Supergirl suit leaning on the golden planet statue. She looked over the city waiting for something to happen. She looked down at her suit noticing a stain of blood on her sleeve. The blood was old causing Kara to remember where it came from. It was from a few weeks ago, she came across a man trying to kidnap a young girl in a alleyway. Kara had just been let go due to budget cuts and was not in a good mood. She landed behind the man causing him to turn around. He had a gun and immediately fired. The bullet flew straight into Kara's eye crushing on impact. This annoyed Kara as she slapped the man across the face, blood from his mouth splattering onto Kara's suit. A few of his teeth fell out of his mouth as he stood up fear in his eyes. The young woman ran off in fear. Kara pushed the man into the front window of his car the glass smashing as his back collided with the windscreen. Kara just flew up and moved onto the next crime. Kara is broken out of her reminder with police sirens blaring downtown. Kara steps of the side of the building falling through the air before shooting down the streets.

Warehouse

The kidnapper laid unconscious in a tube full of water. A figure stood over the tube examining the man. He added a serum into tube mixing with the water. The Kidnapper's body starts to shake his body and muscles expanding. His eyes shot open his eyes turning pure black as he started to scream.
