IZUKU POV

"What do you think about a wedding in the winter? Just imagine a blanket of white snow and trees stripped of their leaves as our backdrop."

"No."

"You're right, winter is too cold for an outside wedding. Oh what about summer? I could have a modern wedding dress that allows for more movement."

"No."

"Yeah that makes sense, summers are too hot and it would ruin my fair complexion. Spring would always work, we could have a ceremony under the cherry blossoms just as they bloom. The symbolism of our relationship blooming into its next phase would be beautiful."

"No."

"Yeah, that's definitely too cliché. We could do a traditional wedding during the fall?"

"No."

"Yeah, I don't like that idea either. Picking the right time to have a wedding is difficult."

The entire car ride Mama Joke had been putting out different ideas of when to have their wedding while flipping through a giant folder. With each and every idea she put out he became more annoyed. Kyoka and I decided it was best to stay quiet so we didn't add more fuel to the flame. We slowly began to lose interest as we scrolled through our phones.

"Hey Jirou, have you ever thought about future wedding plans?"

My interest in the conversation had peaked. Looking over I saw Kyoka look away with a slight blush as she tapped her jacks together. "The thought may have crossed my mind a few times."

Mama Joke turned around quickly. "Do share, I need some more ideas."

"It's nothing big, I just wanted to have some good bands there."

Mama Joke pouted at her answer. "You haven't thought about a location?"

Kyoka's face turned a deep red as she looked out the window. "There's nothing to think about, I already know where it's going to be."

"Tell me, tell me, tell me!" She was practically coming out of her seat.

As curious as I was to know where she had decided I figured a change of topic was needed. "Mama Joke, why do you still call her by her last name?"

She turned her gaze towards me before thinking. "I don't know, it never crossed my mind." She turned back to Kyoka who was still blushing pretty hard. "Do you mind?"

Kyoka shook her head. "I wouldn't mind at all."

Being momentarily satisfied she turned back around and continued to flip through her folder while humming quietly to herself. It was good to see her so happy... even if there wasn't going to be a wedding.

When we finally reached Kyoka's house we were all surprised to once again see her parents waiting outside. This time they didn't have a confused expression, instead they were all smiles. I was thankful that there wasn't an awkward interaction this time. Just as we were all heading in I felt a pull on my shoulder.

Mika was giving me a knowing smile. "Have you been enjoying the sleeping arrangements?"

A nervous laugh escaped my lips. "I... uh... yes?"

Her smile turned playful. "There's no need to be nervous, my husband doesn't know."

I let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank God."

She looked at me rather surprised. "Are you actually scared of my husband?"

"Not at all, it's just the last time he threatened to cut off a certain area. Any guy with half a brain would be worried."
