KYOKA POV

"Are you seriously going to just ignore all of our questions?"

...

"You do realize even if you don't answer us we can still know if our guesses are right."

...

"Mom you should just drop it, Izuku won't answer so we shouldn't pry."

My mom turned around and looked between Izuku and myself. Her eyes narrowed before she sighed.

"Look, I can't help but be curious. We get a dinner invitation out of the blue from Emi and we're told nothing."

"I know, I'm just as curious as you, but if Izuku isn't giving us answers that means he was told to keep quiet."

"And that just makes me want to know even more." Mom extended one of her jacks to tap dad. "I know you're just as curious."

"The only thing I'm curious about is why we had to pick them up. Mr. Aizawa was literally teaching them three hours ago."

"Pops said Mama Joke wanted to make sure everything was perfect for tonight."

Mom quickly turned to Izuku. "Oh so you can speak."

"Mom cut it out."

"Fine, we can talk about something else."

"Thank you."

"So Izuku, how's your work study going? I heard the agency you're with pulled off some big raid the other day."

My eyes widened as I looked over at Izuku. To my knowledge he hadn't told my parents about what happened. The entire situation was still a hot button topic for him, but much to my surprise he wasn't fazed. He merely shrugged while staring out the window.

"It was work, nothing more nothing less."

Mom's eyes narrowed again. "You don't say."

Izuku shrugged again while staring off into the distance. He knew he couldn't pull one over on her, but it seemed like he didn't plan on telling her anything either.

"Are you serious!? You guys raided a Yakuza hideout and you talk as if it's just another day at the office!"

Dad wasn't wrong to be worked up over this, something this big wasn't an everyday occurrence.

"We're aiming to be heroes so this is just part of the job."

"Still I hope you got a good story to tell us from it!"

A noticeable flinch came from Izuku, mom noticed it as well. I began twirling my jacks as I prayed for the conversation to either end or us to get to Pop's house.

Izuku sighed before pulling out his phone. "We stopped drug production and rescued a little girl, is that a good enough story?"

"Oh come on, you gotta make it extravagant give us the juicy details."

"I think that's enough for now. I'm sure Izuku is tired of retelling that story."

Izuku softly smiled at my mom and whispered a 'thank you' to her. It was the first time he smiled since they picked us up.

A begrudging sigh came from dad. "That's fine, we clearly have something more important to talk about."

I raised an eye at my dad. "And what could that be?"

"Well it's that time of year isn't it? Every school has one so UA shouldn't be any different."

Sighing, I rested my head on the back of the seat. "Yes, we have a school festival coming up. No, you can't come."
