A month flew by. You tried to look for Daniel to apologise, but hadn't seen much of him. He wasn't getting the bus anymore and had hardly seen him at school. It seemed Ali hadn't seen him much either. Whenever Ali came over to you to ask you questions your response was always, "Sorry, I don't know, I haven't seen him."

Halloween soon came. You were going with Lou and her cousin Holly to the school Halloween dance as The Ronettes. You'd met up at Lou's house to get ready. Holly had done the iconic beehive hairstyles for you all, so you all looked the part.

"Do you know if Daniel's going?" Lou asked you as you put your makeup on.
"I don't know. I haven't seen him." You replied.
"Come on, y/n. You didn't even give him a week." Lou reminded you, "Next time you see him, you've gotta pluck up the courage to apologise to him. And you said Ali hasn't seen much of him so if she's outta the picture then this is your chance."
"Okay fine. If I see him at this dance, I'll talk to him." You decided.

The dance was wild. The three of you had by far some of the best costumes there, but only for the first part of the dance. You'd been there for about twenty minutes when you caught sight of the immediate best costume.

"Wow, look at the shower!" Holly pointed out. You smiled to yourself.
"That's Daniel." You replied.
"How do you know?" Lou asked.
"I just know." You chuckled, as you began moving across the dance floor towards him.

"Hello? Anyone in here?" You called from outside. You pulled the curtains open slowly, until you saw Daniel and then shut them quickly.
"Oh sorry!" You joked, "I didn't know someone was in there!"
"You really are funny." Daniel smirked as he pulled the curtains open and you stepped inside. He closed the curtains behind you, leaving the two of you closed off from everyone else.

"This is so cool." You smiled, admiring the shower costume.
"Yeah, a friend of mine made this for me." Daniel replied, "Isn't it great?"
"So where've you been hiding?" You asked.
"I haven't been hiding." He laughed.
"Well I just haven't seen you around." You replied.
"You been looking?"
You blushed, "Sorta."
"Sorta?"
"Well I thought maybe you were still angry with me."
"Why?"
"Well, because of what I said the last time I saw you." You sighed, feeling a little guilty.
"Hey, I've been thinking a lot about that and - "
"No, I know," You interrupted before he could apologise in any way, "But I should just really learn to mind my own business. How you feel about her is none of my concern."
"No it was me." He began "I should've just stayed out of it if you didn't wanna tell me." You thought this conversation was going down a rocky path, but he began to smile, "So let's forgive each other, huh?"
"Yeah." You returned a smile before he pulled you into a hug. A huge burden just got lifted off of your shoulders. You felt so happy in that moment. The two of you stayed there for a while. You each rested your head on the other's shoulders and smiled. And then you heard a familiar voice.

"Help me! Help me! My flower needs water!" Ali called from outside.
"Oh, I better go then." You pulled away upon hearing her.
"No, wait, y/n..." Daniel stammered.
"Thanks for forgiving me." You smiled. Quickly you pulled up the curtain and ducked out of the shower so that Ali wouldn't see you, before making your way back to Lou and Holly.
