"Who'd have thought it?" Maddy laughed as you tucked her into bed, "He kicks a gate in your face and now you're head over heels in love with each other."
"God works in mysterious ways, Mads." You answered.
"Oh, don't go all religious on me." Maddy replied. You chuckled.
"Goodnight, Maddy." You got up to leave her room, "I hope you had a good time today."
"I did, thanks." Maddy smiled, "Thank you for letting me come with you. I hope I didn't embarrass you."
"Of course you didn't." You replied warmly.
"You also gave me a chance to see Daniel's fighting skills," Maddy continued, "Which is great news for me."
"Why is that great news for you?"
"Well if Eddie at school keeps bothering me, would you ask Daniel to come and fight him for me?"
