"Yet you haven't hurt any of us," Mr Aizawa's words reverberated in the back of his head. "In fact, you could've left months ago. What made you stay?"
As Izuku stared out his classroom window, paying no mind to the ongoing lesson that Ectoplasm was teaching, he found himself contemplating Mr Aizawa's words. They were said quite some time ago—about a week prior, before the Camp even got attacked.
Now that all the chaos had mostly blown over, Izuku went back to his previous worries… picking his side. Was he truly a Villain, or actually a Hero?
He had a lot to lose, no matter which side he eventually chose. Katsuki meant everything to him, but so did his Yakuza. He considered them as close as his family… could he sacrifice them for one individual?
The more he thought about his decision, the more questions surfaced and threatened to rip his mind in two. Izuku sighed deeply; his lover… or his family?
He really desired to confront Mietto on this issue, but even if he did… she wouldn't be able to respond. The Camino Ward incident left her in a coma. Izuku had ensured that she wouldn't die, hooking her up to multiple machines and threatening people to donate their blood.
Furthermore, there was the new dormitory system that Nezu had set up. Supposedly, it was to keep all the students in check and ensure that none of their families will get caught in the crossfire. The League of Villains had surely outdone themselves.
In addition, Tasei must be having a field day. Well, not quite. Due to Izuku's attendance at school and Mietto's comatose state, he had no choice but to take up the mantle of becoming the Unknown Passcodes' temporary leader. Izuku felt slightly remorseful—after all, he was the one supposed to lead the bloodthirsty individuals, but there he was…
…Playing the role of a student.
Perhaps it would be more convenient if he were to focus his attention on his occupation instead of school. The only problem would be the connections he will be leaving behind, such as Principal Nezu, Mr Aizawa, Mr Toshinori… and Katsuki.
Izuku's fingers curled into his palm and squeezed tightly. In truth, he wasn't prepared to leave Katsuki so suddenly. He didn't think that he would ever be prepared. Though, that wasn't why his chest ached. He merely wondered how Katsuki would react to such an abrupt breakup…
The school bell rang, startling Izuku from his musings. He breathed out deeply and stood from his seat. Not even sparing a glance at anyone, he left the classroom.
As he was walking down the hallway, however, strong arms wrapped around his waist and stopped him from advancing. Izuku felt a warm breath cascade over his neck. "Izuku…" Katsuki's arms locked in front of him, his chin resting on top of his shoulder. "You look stressed out. Something wrong?"
"N-no…" Izuku's freckled cheeks tinted a deep shade of crimson, and he turned to face his empty shoulder.
Katsuki's warm breath tickled his ear, turning it red as well. “Stop that…” Izuku muttered, trying to escape the encapsulation of his muscular arms to no avail.
A gentle kiss was placed on Izuku's neck, and he couldn't help the startled yelp that had escaped his throat. “Kacchan…!”
“I can tell something is bothering you,” Katsuki interrupted, his voice uncharacteristically soothing. “You said that you trust me, so tell me what's wrong.”
"I…" Izuku winced. It seems that there was no running away from this. "Kacchan, I want to…" his voice cracked as he gulped down the lump in his throat and screwed his eyes shut. "I want to break up."
