Michael's POV
I got to Gabriel's lair. It's a grand mansion and it has been on Earth long before the humans inhabitat the Earth. It was atop a high cliff that was surrounded only by water. The only way to get here is by flying. It was a place for all the outcasts that joined him. My mind was on Scarlett the whole way there. I couldn't lose her, I can't go through that again. I knew it was a bad idea to be with her, it wasn't worth it, knowing that the outcome will always be the same. This is all my fault. I landed on the cliff and put my wings away. I walked quickly towards the entrance both swords in hands, ready. I stepped inside and looked around and listened. I heard faint screaming. Scarlett. I bolted through the hallway and came to Gabriel's main room. There were five outcasts, as soon as they saw me they drew their swords. Fools. They came at me, swords raised. The first outcast that came at me I easily avoided, and stabbed my sword in his neck, pulling it out swiftly as he dropped to the ground. The other two outcasts came at me from opposite directions. I opened my wings, and beat them with such force that it send the two outcast flying and hitting the wall, not bothering to get up again. This was no challenge for me. These outcast were merely virtues, fifth in the rank. The other two looked at me, weary to approach.
"I advise you not to try anything, unless you want to end up like your friends. Where's my brother?"
"Leave, archangel. You have no business here." One of the outcast claimed, still afraid to approach me.
"I'll decide where my business is." I stated as I flung my swords across the room, both of them hitting each outcast directly between the eyes and puncturing their brain as they fell on their back, thick red blood dripping down their face.
"Now Michael, was that really necessary?" Gabriel said, as he walked calmly into the room. I went to their bodies and retrieved my swords, wiping the blood on their clothes.
"Where's Scarlett?"
"I have no idea what you're rambling on about brother."
"Don't play games with me Gabriel. I heard her screaming. What are you doing to her?"
"Oh, the girl just has a flare for the dramatic. Nothing serious. I just can't have her disobeying my rules. I could see why you like her. She's not like other human girls. She's stronger, smarter, more beautiful. It's interesting, she precisely resembles..."
"Don't you dare. Don't you dare speak her name. You lost that privilege a long time ago." I said as anger started building up inside me.
"Must you always remember only the ill things of the past?"
"Only because it is you that made it so. Is it not?"
"We both have out faults Michael, don't ever forget that." Gabriel said as he moved closer.
"I don't. Which is why you are going to let her go."
"Oh, but we both know I won't do that."
"She is of no use to you."
"Oh but she is. And we both know it." I already figured out his game. He was going to use her to get to me. To make me join him, or else he will kill her. And I honestly don't know what I will choose. Will I save the one soul that I love and let a thousand innocent souls die? No, that is not a choice. I have to safe everyone. I need to get her out of here. I have to develop a distraction that will make him leave so I can get her out. But until then I have to remain composed.
"You're making a huge mistake." I finally stated.
"You see it as a mistake, I on the other hand see it as an opportunity." He said, that sly smile forming on his face.
"Your arrogance never ceases to amaze me."
"We both share the trait of supercilious Michael. It's one of the many things that we share." I scoff at his remark.
"It's the only thing we share." As I was talking to him I walked around, trying to come up with a plan as I looked at the architecture. I knew I still needed to see the room she was imprisoned in, but there was no way I could get in there now. I could handle any number of outcast Gabriel threw at me, but that could keep me from reaching her in time. So after after a while an idea started started to form in my head. I can't do anything now. Gabriel wont kill her, he needs her.
"I'm going to tell you one last time. Let her go. Or you will regret this for the rest of your miserable life." But all he did was laugh. My threat meant nothing to him.
"You laugh now brother, but pretty soon you'll be on your knees begging me to spare your life."
"I would love for you to try."
"Challenge accepted." I stated as I spread my wings and flew off.
