Scarlett's POV
I held on to Michael tight, not wanting to ever forget his touch. His familiar scent, like soap and fresh air. A stupid tear rolled down my cheek, and of course, him being so amazing and attentive, noticed.
"Hey, are you ok? What's wrong?" The pure concern in his voice, overwhelmed me.
"Nothing, they're happy tears. I'm just really glad that I'm with you again." I forced a smile, praying he doesn't see through my facade. But he just smiled and kissed me on the forehead. I squeezed my eyes tight, keeping more tears from escaping.
When we got home, I had no idea what to do. I felt mentally and emotionally drained. When I saw Michael coming into the room to rescue me, my prayer and nightmare came true at the same time.
"Scarlett?"
"Yes? Did you say something?"
"I asked if you want to talk about everything's that's happened? What you've been through?" I wanted to tell him everything but when I opened my
mouth nothing came out. He saw my hesitation and it worried him.
"I'm so sorry it took so long. Please forgive me. Did they hurt you? Did...Gabriel hurt you? If he did he will pay for it I swear it. I'll make it up to you. This is all on me and I'll do anything for you." I put both hands on his face, stroking his cheek.
"My God, how can you be so sublime?" I whispered, looking into his deep blue eyes. I could get lost in them forever. He closed his eyes, and kissed the inside of my hand.
"I'll never let you go again." He replied, making my stomach turn into a knot. He leaned down to kiss me and I leaned in until our lips touched. The kiss was slow and gentle. I savored the moment, trying to memorize the curve of his lips. His hands moved to my hips pulling me closer until I was pressed against his hard rock body. I interlaced my hands around his neck and stood on my tiptoes. But he broke the kiss. I looked at him perplexed and a little hurt.
"Scarlett you have no idea how much I want to just kiss you and hold you right now, but you're not safe yet. Gabriel could still come, we have to be in high alert."
"He won't." I said without hesitation which was a mistake. He looked at me dubiously by my certainty.
"Please Michael. Just for one night, can we focus on something other than the war or your brother?" I asked in a whisper as I traced his face with my finger slowly, stopping at his lips. He closed his eyes and leaned closer.
"Screw it." He said as he picked me up bridal style as if I weighted nothing and lead us to my bedroom, kicking the door closed behind him. Which I'm guessing he must have fixed. He gently placed me on the bed, looking down at me unsurely.
"Are you sure about this? Wouldn't you like to talk first about what happened? I feel like I'm taking advantage."
"I promise you you're not. Right now I want to forget everything that's happened and just be with you." That was all he needed. He cupped my face with both hands and leaned down to kiss me. But this time the kiss was harder, more hungry. I ran my hands through his dark hair, making him moan. I smiled against his lips loving his reaction. He stopped the kiss to take off his overcoat, and I removed his shirt. I almost forgot what a defined upper body he has. I bit my lip, completely turned on, and he noticed because he raised his eyebrow and said
"You like what you see?" But I wasn't giving in that easily. I shrugged and replied
"Eh, I guess it's alright." He laughed, pretending to be offended.
"Well, I guess it's not a fair competition unless you participate as well." He gently pushed down the new dress that Gabriel gave me, this one white, to reveal my shoulder which he started kissing, traveling up to my neck. I started laughing, I was very ticklish in that area.
"Excuse me, are you laughing at my amazing kisses?"
"But of course not, I wouldn't dare." I said, mocking his serious tone.
"I should hope not. As you have probably already noticed, I give the most irresistible kisses."
"Hmm, why don't you show me again just how irresistible they really are?"
"It would be my absolute pleasure." He said smiling, as he started leaving trails of kisses all over my face and neck. He reached behind my back, and took hold of the zipper to the dress. He looked at me first, asking for permission. I smiled and nodded, even though my heart was racing. I arched my back so he could unzip the dress, which he slowly took off and threw to the floor somewhere. His hands traveled down my body cautiously, exploring and sending electric sparks coursing through me. His lips touched my stomach just above my belly button as his hands grazed my inner thighs. I arched my back as he unclipped my bra and threw it on the ground like the dress. I froze, as his eyes took me in. He leaned down and whispered in my ear
"You're beautiful." I blushed furiously by his comment. His hands did wonders to me, making me feel such intense pleasure I didn't think was possible. My body responded to him eagerly, every slight touch or kiss left me wanting more. He was gentle and he looked me in the eyes the whole time, as I moaned his name in ecstasy. The feeling was sensational.
After we made love, we laid on the bed entangled in the sheets with his arm around my waist and my hands on his chest, as I traced circles over and over on his skin with my finger. He looked at me with those intense blue eyes of his.
"I love you so much Scarlett. Don't ever forget that." Those words still made my heart flutter when he said them.
"I love you too Michael." He smiled and leaned forward to give me one last passionate kiss before he went to sleep. I just watched his chest slowly rise and fall. He looked so at peace and happy. I didn't go to sleep for a while, savoring the moment for as long as I could until my eyes started closing, knowing this will be the last time I'll fall asleep in his arms.
