Michaels POV
It was time. Finally after almost two grueling weeks of wondering and worrying about Scarlett we were finally ready. During that time I had also managed to turn the war a bit in our favor. During the time I spend figuring out a way to rescue Scarlett, my other angels kept to the original plan of following the outcasts. And fortunately, they found a place a few miles outside the city where many of them were holed up, planning on a next attack on the city. They took them by surprise, a great advantage. They took two of them alive. The art of torture is something magnificent indeed as much as it is deadly. But it is needed in order to obtain information. I double checked to make sure I have both my swords. I turned towards my group of angels behind me.
"All right. We're all set. Everybody knows the plan?"
"Yes sir!" My angles replied in unison.
"Good. Let's go!" I took off, my angels following behind me in formation. Don't worry Scarlett, I'm coming for you.

We arrived there shortly and landed on the cliff. Immediately, we split up into assigned groups, surrounding the castle. I went in with my group through the front. Gabriel was so arrogant, he didn't even have guards stationed outside the castle. That's how safe and secure he felt. Foolish bastard. My angels went inside the castle while I remained outside, out of sight. Immediately, I heard the sound of swords clashing. Then a couple of minutes later, I heard my brothers booming voice.
"What is this madness?!"
"Archangel Gabriel, under heavens law you are hereafter incarcerated for abuse of power, abduction, and slaughter of the innocent." Dimitri responded. As expected, my brother laughed.
"Those are some wild accusations you are throwing around."
"Are they not true? Have you not sinned in Gods name?" Dimitri challenged.
"Haven't we all sinned under Gods name in some point in time? I am not the only one, and yet you dare to point out only my sins? How about yours?" I shook my head at my brothers response. He always makes excuses to try to get the blame off him. When is he going to learn?
"Archangel Gabriel, I will repeat one more time. Surrender, and you might be granted a fair trail to decide the best punishment that fits your crimes."
"I never surrender." And that's when all hell broke loose, just as I predicted. Without wasting any more time, I spread my wings and flew around, looking through each window until I found the room Scarlett was kept in. When I found her, all I could think about is holding her in my arms and never letting her go again. I flew to the window and took hold of two of the bars and pulled until they came loose. When Scarlet heard the noise, she looked up startled. When she saw me, I could see a storm of emotions in her beautiful brown eyes. Happiness, relief, sadness and...regret. I pulled loose the other two bars and stepped into the room. Immediately she burst into tears and ran into my arms, nearly knocking me off my feet. I hugged her back tight, no words could describe how overjoyed I was to see her alive and well. I looked into her eyes, gently wiping her tears away.
"I'm so sorry." I whispered. Instead of responding she crashed her lips on mine. Instantly my body responded, hungry for her touch. For the feel of her lips that I have missed so much. I wrapped my arms around her body, pulling her closer to me. A slight moan escaped her lips, and I loved the affect I had on her even after all these years. Just as she did on me. I remembered the predicament we were in and I broke away. We were not safe yet.
"I knew you'd come." She said with a sad smile.
"I'll always come for you. But we have to go before Gabriel figures out that my angels are just a diversion so I could get to you."
"Michael...I..."
"Scarlett we have to go now. I won't fail you again. I'll go out the window first, then I'll pull you out. Ok?" She nodded without saying anything. She was acting strange and it was bothering me. But how could I blame her? Who knew what she went through the whole time we were apart. I have to talk to her about it when we get home. I jumped out the window and spread my wings. I reached out to grab her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I carefully pulled her through the window. She held on to me tight. I didn't waste anymore time. I flew at high speed, putting as much distance between us and my brother. I was proud that my planned worked, but deep down I couldn't help but thing that it was too easy.
