When we got back to the city I finally noticed where he lived. I can't believe I didn't see it before. It was the tallest building in the whole city. It was like a thick, long pole made of bricks that stretched up really high and then at the top it was round. It explained the structure of his house. And why there's only two buttons in the elevator. There are no other rooms. He is the only one that lives here. We went in through the balcony. He let go of my waist and I have to admit I was disappointed. I felt so safe and secure in his arms. Get it together Scarlett. You can't think like this. I gave myself a mental slap, and I followed him out of the balcony. He put the shovel down and turned to me.

"Why didn't you tell me what you were going to do? I could have went for you."

"You wouldn't have known where to look." I said, hoping he drops it.

"Are you sure that's the only reason you didn't tell me?" He asked.

"Yes." I said, looking anywhere but at him.

"You can't do that again. Do you understand? Next time you will get punished. Now, since you're going to be living here for a while, I assume you need some things since all your stuff were stolen." He said walking around the room. I was never more embarrassed or uncomfortable than I was right now. I hate asking people for stuff. It makes me feel useless. I hated having to depend on someone.

"Here is some money to buy yourself some clothes." He said, holding out the money for me to take. I wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.

"No I don't want to take your money. I'm going to go look for a job so I'll have my own money. You don't need to waste your money on me." I said determined not to depend on him more than I already have to.

"I know that your probably uncomfortable with all this. But honestly it's going to take you a while to get a job. You have no idea how many people are coming into the city everyday, looking for jobs and apartments. Jobs are filling up fast and apartments are being taken away fast. Pretty soon we're not going to be able to allow any more people into the city. We don't have the space or the resources. The city is not that big. The ones that can't get in are going to have to go to another safe city. And I'm really sorry about that. I wish I could help them all. But it doesn't work that way. All I could do is the protect the people in this city against Gabriel and his outcast. Help the people in Amsterdam win the war. But I assure you that the rest of the safe cities are doing the same thing as us. The angels that are in each city are helping the humans that are there. We're trying to spread out as much as possible. Cover as much ground as we can. But we can't guarantee the safety of every soul. Do you understand?" He claimed. I wanted to be mad at him and all the angels. It's their fault this is happening. They came here and turned everything upside down. But that wouldn't be fair. We should be grateful that we even have angels who are willing to fight for us. I know that they're doing the best they can.

"I understand." Finally looking at him and giving him a weak smile. He smiled that charming smile of his. He took my hand and placed the money in it. A hundred dollar bill. Now I felt even worse.

"I'll take you to the nearest woman clothes store that I think will have everything you will need, since your still not familiar with the city." He stated.

"Ok. Thank you so much. I know I keep saying that but I really mean it. You have done so much for me these past two days. You've saved my life, you're letting me stay in your home. I just can't thank you enough. If there's anything I can do for you, just ask." I said looking at him.

"I never heard anybody say thank you so many times in two days. Like I said it's no problem. Just don't break any more rules. Now, should we get going? It's getting dark outside." He stated. As we walked towards the balcony I nodded and once again he put his hands around my waist.

"Why aren't we taking the elevator?" I asked.

"Why should we, when we have a perfectly good transportation method right here?" He asked chuckling. It was so cute. I put my arms around his neck. He bended his knees, expanded his wings and we flew off. It was amazing. Nothing like how I felt when I was with the outcast. It felt wonderful being in his arms. His wings were glorious. But it was also a bit awkward. I didn't know where to look or where to put my head. After a couple of minutes, we were in front of a woman's clothes store which was called exactly that. So original.

"I'll pick you up in an hour. Is that enough time?" He said.

"Yes. But you don't have to pick me up, I could find my own way back to your house. I'm sure you have more important things to do." I said.

"You're right I do have other stuff to do but not right now. So, an hour?" He asked again. I nodded and thanked him again and then he flew off. I went into the store. It was like any typical store. In the end I bought the most necessary things that I'll need and I'll get more with my own money when I find a job. I walked out of the woman's clothes store and waited outside for Michael. It was getting dark and it was almost time for the curfew. Finally he came.

"Sorry I'm late." He said.

"It's ok." I said not really minding, I'm sure he had something important to do. This time we walked back to his house. After we got upstairs I put the bags in the bedroom. I went out of the bedroom and I smelled something as I got closer to the bed. It smelled like a woman's perfume. As I got closer I saw something next to the bed. I bend down to get a closer look. It was a hot pink thong. I felt like I got punched in the stomach. He was taking care of something important my ass. I shouldn't feel like this. I have no right, no reason to. But I still do. Come on Scarlett what did you expect? He's gorgeous and he's an angel. He probably has a whole line of women waiting to do him. Beautiful women that I could never compete with.

"What are you looking at?" Michael asked from behind me. I didn't even hear him walk in.

"Nothing." I said harsher than I meant, while pushing the thong as casually as I could under the bed with my foot.

"I have to go to a meeting with the President to discuss strategies about the war, and the future of the city." He said walking towards me.

"You don't have to tell me where you're going. It's none of my business." I said moving away from him. He looked hurt by my action but he quickly recovered.

"I just thought that you should know. If you're hungry there's food in the kitchen. It's the door on the right." He stated. And I realized I was hungry. I haven't eaten since yesterday.

"Ok. Thank you." I said. He nodded and walked towards the balcony and flew away. I went into the kitchen. This time I wasn't that surprised that this room is also big. There was a long brown wooden counter that stretched out the whole way on the left side. There were lots of drawers which were full pans, plates, cups and the usual. At the end there was a white refrigerator against the wall. There was a wooden breakfast table on the right side of the wall. The stove was one of those where it's part of the counter. There was a silver microwave and a sink of course. And lots of space to move around. I decided to cook something. I was a pretty good cook, I learned everything from my mom. I looked into the fridge and it had all the ingredients I needed to make my favorite dish that my mom used to make me. It was something she invented. After about half an hour later I finished cooking. I washed the dishes and cleaned up a bit. I put Michaels portion in a plate and I left it on the counter. After that I eat, took a shower, then got dressed for bed. I put on a black tank top, and the black pajama shorts. I left Michael a note; There's food in a plate on the counter if you would like to eat. You could heat it up if it's cold. Thank you again. ~Scarlett. As I wrote my name I realized he didn't even know it. He never asked. Oh, well. Now he will. I left the note on his bed and went into the bedroom. I closed the door and got into bed exhausted.
