Michaels POV
It was late at night when I finally returned from the meeting. There was a lot that was discussed. The only thing we can do now is fight Gabriel's outcast if they come near the city. I have to get more angels on my side before Gabriel gets to them first. Foolish brother, thinking hat father disappeared because of the humans. That's just an excuse. He has always hated the humans for being granted this Earth which he thought was meant for us angels. Now that father is gone, he's using he's absence as a justification to start a war with the humans. I agree that humans have their faults but so do the angels. And there are many innocent humans that don't deserve Gabriel's wrath. If only father would come back and set things right. But until then I have to do what he would have wanted and expected. Which is to protect the humans. I landed on the balcony and put away my wings. The lights were all turned off. She must have been asleep. I went to the bathroom and took a shower. I saw the new things that she bought. It felt weird having her here. Living with me. But it also felt right somehow. After I finished taking a shower I got out of the bathroom and moved towards the bed. I saw a note on it. I picked it up and read it. Her name was Scarlett. And I realized that I didn't even asked for her name. But what a beautiful name. I tried it out by whispering it. It felt perfect saying her name. Scarlett. I went in to the kitchen and I saw the plate full of food on the counter. I took a bite and it was delicious. After I finished eating I went into the bedroom to check on her. I smiled at the funny way she slept. She was on her side and she had one leg outside the blanket and one inside. She was hugging the corner of the blanket with one hand and covering her face with it. Her other hand was under the pillow. She was breathtaking. Even when she was sleeping. I couldn't stop looking at her. She started moving and I quickly closed the door before she could see me. I got mad at myself for doing something so stupid. Then I went to bed, bend down and reached under it for the thing that Scarlett pushed with her foot thinking that I didn't see. It was the blondes undergarment. Damn it. I could just imagine what she thinks of me. And I shouldn't care, but I do. I can't let her know that. I can't get close to her and I can't let her get close to me. I should have never said that she could stay here. It was a big mistake. But there's nothing I can do now. Tomorrow I'll help her get a job so she could start saving money to rent an apartment. The sooner she's out of here, the safer it would be. For both of us.
