East.

Is she ok I asked Kai's mom.

I suppose she is, she hasn't said anything to me about something being wrong.

I just asked because she seems kind of off and you've been with her all day so I thought that maybe you noticed something.

I'm sure it's because all of the parent talk. Kai always gets emotional whenever conversations like that are brought up because she never got a chance to really know her dad. She's been like that since she was little.

Can I keep it real with you?

Of course.

You say you love her and anything you've ever done was to keep her safe right?

Absolutely.

So why won't you tell Kai about Ali?

The expression Monica gave let me know that I had hit a soft spot for her.

Ali? What could I possibly tell her about Ali? And how do you know him, he was locked up long before you jumped off the porch into the streets.

I know way more then you think I know. Just like I know he's Kai's real father.

And who could have told you some nonsense like that?

My nana, then Ali himself confirmed it. Now come on let's keep it real with each other. Why won't you tell her?

She let out a deep breath. I knew one day that it could possibly come out. I also knew that one day I would have to have this conversation with her. But David you can't say anything. I just really got her back and her finding this out is going to make her hate me all over again. And to be honest I don't think she needs to know, too much time has passed, Ali can't be a father from jail.

That's crazy because he said the same thing. So instead you both rather let her have a empty hole in her heart for a man that's dead. Ali may be in jail but he's still alive. I feel like y'all should give her that choice to make on rather or not she wants to deal with him. Don't keep letting her walk around with hurt in her heart behind a lie.

Well well well what do we have here?

Looking up I saw three niggas, two of them had on mask and one didn't. One of the niggas who had a mask on was holding a gun to the back of the chefs head.

My first instinct was to hop up. Y'all done broke into the wrong mf house.

The man without the mask on signaled for the third nigga to walk over to me. I watched as he did and he pointed his gun directly at my face.

Sit yo ass down before you get put down.

I didn't recognize his voice and I wasn't no dummy. I knew I was out numbered and I didn't have a gun on me. I looked over at Monica and she had the most startled look on her face.

We gone be good just do what they say. I got about 500,000 in the safe, y'all can take that shit and leave don't nobody need to get hurt.

The nigga without the mask on who was clearly in charged begin to chuckle.

Lil nigga we don't want yo fucking money and your wrong mfs are definitely going to get hurt.

All he did was looked at the nigga who was holding the gun to the chefs head and without exchanging any words the nigga gave the chef one to the back of his head and i watched as his lifeless body fell limp to the marble floor.

At the moment all I could think about was Kai, I knew she heard the gunshot and was probably scared as hell and would call the police. But when I looked at where she was sitting I noticed her phone was on the table.
