Kai

I was finally done with my entire home and everything looked absolutely beautiful. It was definitely feeling like a home now .

I had absolutely nothing to do so I decided to chill out and watch Martin . After Grabbing me a water and two glazed doughnuts I flopped down on the couch and turned it on .

Sitting here like this instantly made me think of Yaya . And how she would always complain about me just sitting in the house and watching tv . I couldn't help but crack a smile , but then it immediately put me in my feelings because I truly missed all three of them .

I tried to sit there and ignore my thoughts but I couldn't . I couldn't keep putting this off so at that very moment I decided to get my ass up and go see if I could find my best friends .

I thought about where I would look first as I waited on the elevator door to open .

I wonder if Nana Sheila still stays in the same place , I'll try there first. Then a voice quickly said hell no in my head .

Yea your right , Because If you see East he might kill you .

I was so busy having a whole conversation with myself that I didn't even realize the elevator door had opened .

You gone keep talking to yourself or you gone get on ?

I looked up from my phone to see Naeem standing there looking good as hell holding the elevator door with his hand.

Oh God , he probably thinks I'm crazy .

My bad , I hadn't even realized that it was open .

I stepped onto the elevator and pressed G for the garage .

Did you get settled in ok ?

Yea , it was a lot of work but I got it done .

That's what's up , We'll this is my floor . Nice bumping into you again , another favor and you owe me lunch .

Excuse me ?

I Helped you with your bags and now I'm holding up elevators for you . I think I'm owed a lunch date .

Like a girl in high school I was blushing like a mf .

I'll think about it .

That big kool aid smile telling me you already know your answer , but it ain't no pressure . I'll see you soon Kaisha .

Bye Naeem .

Once the elevator doors closed I let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding in.

Once I got off the elevator I headed to my car and decided that I'd stop by Yaya's first .

As I drove through the streets of my old neighborhood the memories flooded my mind . I remember how we would all go to the corner store up the block from Yaya's and by the single slices of pizza with a Icee , and how we'd sit at the court for hours and have the time of our lives .

Damn I missed this. I pulled up to where Yaya lived , parked my car and got out . I walked up the steps and knocked on the door . No one answered. I walked to the other side of the porch and peaked through the window as best as I could . It was empty as hell and clearly no one has lived here in years.

Ugh , let me try mama and Desiree's , hopefully I'll get lucky there.

I got back in my car and headed to Desiree's who only lived about 4 blocks over , and again I came up empty handed because they had moved too . My last and final option was to try Nana Sheila's so that's where I headed .
