My door slowly creaked opened and in walked my beautiful mother .

Good , are you just getting in from work ?
No I got in at about 6 , showered and caught a quick nap I gotta be right back at 11.
My mom worked at Mount Sinai hospital in Queens. I swear she lived there and only visited here. I barley seen her and when I did it was always quick encounters like the one we're currently having now.
Do they ever give you a break . I asked with evident frustration in my voice.
My mom let out a sigh and then sat next to me on my bed.
Look Kaisha I know I'm never home , and believe me I beat myself up about it all the time . But I'm working hard so that you can have everything you need . I just want you to finish high school get into a good college and make me proud. Once you've done that I'll relax , but until then I have to go hard for the both of us.

Once my mom was gone I went into the bathroom to do my morning routine. It was still early so I knew Des & Yaya weren't up yet . So after my shower and stuff I'd just fix me something to eat and chill for awhile.
I sat on the couch watching reruns of Martin , I'm sure I've seen every episode over 10 times but I didn't care this was my shit. My phone vibrated taking my attention away from the tv . It was a little after 2 and I knew my friends would be calling by now . I picked up my phone and saw that Yaya was calling so I answered it.

I got up and put on my shoes and headed to the court , it was only a few blocks away from my building so it wouldn't take me long to get there . On my walk there I thought about what Yaya said , i really have been boring since we got out for summer vacation but I couldn't help it , I wasn't like her and Des , they loved to party and hang out, even smoke and drink , occasionally I'd take a sip of liquor but the weed was a hell no for me and plus I was only 15, Des and Yaya were both 16 but they were much more advanced than me . I was still a virgin and they weren't . I just didn't wanna get caught up with any of that so half the time while they were out I'd be at home or with Nari.
