The pro football season has begun which means Dre is very busy with practice, individual workouts and of course, games. TDL Logics is still thriving very well and I can't be more proud of our presence in this business and the community. I'm spending more time with our Q&R team bouncing ideas to brand the business more, implement initiatives to help drive diversity and inclusion, customer focus, employee engagement and community action. My vision for TDL Logics is to be a front runner with providing contract knowledge and expertise our customers seek as well as be a pillar in our community.
I've registered my employees into classes that are aligned with the positions they hold within the company that enrich their knowledge which will help them exceed our company goals. This has taken a lot of planning and funds, but I feel it's important in order to move the company to a higher level.
Along with my work schedule, I've also volunteered to help coach one of our inner city female volleyball teams for ages thirteen and fourteen. I've set guidelines and expectations of the young ladies. Youth are very impressionable at this age, so some nights I find myself talking to the girls about life as they know. Coaching is a huge responsibility because it's not just teaching someone how to play the game. Sometimes as the coach, you are the one that the student will talk to about things they are dealing with on a daily basis.
In any sport, no matter the age, discipline is key. I've instilled in the girls to come to the court ready to play, not getting ready to play. For the most part, the girls are focused and take their opportunity to play seriously. Though it takes a lot of my energy, there's nothing else I'd rather be doing than spending time teaching the young ladies the game of volleyball and building a healthy relationship with them.

The time has come for the ladies to try on their dresses for my wedding. I wanted us all to be together, so I had everyone meet at my house and would drive us around in Dre's SUV. I had a full day planned. I fixed breakfast which consisted of pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, hash browns, sausage links, fresh fruit and mimosas. Once we were finished eating, the ladies helped me clean the kitchen and we made our way to the bridal shop.
I already had a few dresses for Darah and LaShae to try on, but I let them know they could choose the one they felt good wearing. I wanted each one of their dresses to be different. My mom and future mother in law would have the opportunity to choose their dress as long as it was the color Dre and I chose for them.
When we arrived at the dress shop, the owner had everything set up in individual dressing rooms. The girls had so much fun trying on dresses. They said it made them feel like princesses. I just laughed at them. I'm so blessed to have friends like LaShae and Darah. Finally it was time for my mom and Dre's mom to try on dresses. They have similar taste in clothing.
Everyone had chosen a dress to my liking and I sent Dre a text to let him know this part of the planning was complete. No alterations needed to be done. Everything was near perfect. Dre had already scheduled tux fitting for his small groom's party during a weekend that he had a home game.
Things were working out as planned and ahead of schedule. Dre talked me into hiring a wedding planner that would take care of hiring someone to decorate, set up the tents and seating, bakery and catering. I'm glad I agreed, because with working and coaching, I barely had time to think about anything else.
After we left the dress shop, we went to the mall to pick out accessories and shoes. Of course there wasn't a dull moment. Me and the girls ended up in a lingerie store where we tried on "for his eyes only" shoes. While there, I purchased a few bedroom outfits and a pair of shoes. I love dressing up for Dre.
A few hours of shopping, I had purchased everyone's jewelry and shoes. This would be part of the gifts for my wedding party and our parents. Dre would take care of the men's accessories since they would be renting their tux and shoes. Dre and I are having his tux and my dress made to compliment the other, even though he won't know what my dress looks like until I walk down the aisle. This day ended with laughter, happiness, joy and a sense of accomplishment.
