We're on our way to my second appointment and I've officially entered into my second trimester. With the season starting soon, it was important to me for Dre to attend the next appointment. He's just as excited as the day I first told him. We will hear little bean's heart beat today.
Finally arriving at the doctor's office, Dre parked and ran around to the passenger side to open the door for me. He grabbed my hand and walked me inside. We stopped by the receptionist to check in.
"Please have a seat. The doctor will be with you shortly."
Dre and I went to the seating area. There were a few men there with their significant other. As soon as they noticed that it was Andre who was in the room, they shifted closer and started asking about the season. I could tell they were Dallas fans because they were asking about the health of the QB. Dre continued holding my hand. I know he didn't want to discuss football at the moment, but never wanted to ignore a fan.
It wasn't too much longer before we were called into the patient room. The nurse was waiting on me. She asked me to get on the scale. Once I was weighed, she checked my blood pressure and temperature. Everything so far looked good. Before leaving the room, the nurse told me to remove my clothes from the waist up and put on a paper shirt. When the nurse closed the door, I removed my cami and put on the paper shirt. Dre got up from the chair and walked over to stand beside me.
"Babe you didn't wear a bra?"
"No because my breasts feel sore and I don't want them confined in a bra."
He just looked at me. "Why didn't you tell me you were feeling some discomfort?"
"There's nothing you can do to help me with that Dre. My body is going to go through a lot more changes."
He looked at me with so much concern. "Babe, does it hurt when I'm massaging or sucking on your breast? I mean there's times when I've been a little rough."
I told Dre that my breasts are sensitive because of the pregnancy and that I'll deal with it.
"I'm not touching your breasts anymore until you have our little bean."
"So when other parts of my body starts to hurt, are you going to stop touching me at all? No sex, no caressing, no body massage; you're going to stop all of that?"
"Well now that you put it that way, that's totally out of the question. You know I have to be in your puss-."
Before he could finish, the doctor and nurse walked back in.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hassan. It's good to see you. Tahleea are there any changes we should discuss today?"
I told the doctor that my breasts were extremely sensitive at times and I also have dull headaches every now and then. The doctor said it's completely normal and told me I could take a Tylenol for pain. I also told him that I sometimes get nauseated after taking the prenatal vitamin. The doctor said this was also normal and should start subsiding since I'm entering the second trimester. He asked me about my exercise routine and I told him I still run five miles three to four times a week and the other days I do light weight lifting. He noted everything and told me I should be ok to continue my routine but at any time that I feel tired, not to push myself. He said I need to listen to my body. Dre soaked in everything the doctor said.
Now it was time for the ultrasound. The doctor put the cold gel on my stomach and placed the wand over it. He kept moving the wand until we heard little bean's heart beat. It was so fast and strong. Soon we saw our little one appear on the screen. The doctor started laughing.
"This little one is already active. Mama you'll need to brace yourself for the coming weeks. You will feel little flutters, but the baby's kicks will become strong. When it does, dad will be able to feel the kicks."
When he was done with the measurements, he printed pictures for us. I had him print four because we planned on having our parents over to make the announcement. I've already had shirts made for them and will be putting the ultrasound pictures in magnet frames for them.
After the doctor left, Dre cleaned the remaining gel from my belly and I put my cami back on. As we walked towards the nurse's station, I stopped and told them for future visits I would like us to enter through a different way so that Dre's isn't rushed by fans. They said it wouldn't be a problem and apologized for not having things set up today. I let them know it was ok and thanked them for making those arrangements for future visits.
After we arrived back home, we called our parents and asked them to come by our house within the next few hours. Everything was going good so it was time to tell the grandparents. While Dre and I waited for our parents, we used the time to snuggle which soon turned into making out. I don't know if it's because of the pregnancy, but I can't keep my hands off of him. I want sex daily and sometimes a few times a day.

Our parents had arrived and we were all sitting in the living room. Dre had gone upstairs to get the gift bags. We gave each grandparent their bag and asked them to open it at the same time. Dre started recording as each grandparent pulled a gift from the bag. My dad pulled out the magnet frame and my mom pulled out her shirt. My mom jumped from the couch like she had been shot from a cannon.
"I'm going to be a grandmother! Daniel we're going to be grandparents!"
My parents pulled me in for a tight hug and then my dad grabbed Dre to include him in the embrace. Dre's parents joined in on the group hug. They were all so excited and happy. Dre's mom was excited about her baby boy finally becoming a father. Dre had the biggest smile on his face. Now that our parents know, it was time to share the news with LaShae, Sean, Darah and Isaac. To say they were ecstatic was an understatement. They were already planning the baby shower. I love my circle of friends!
Dre called a few of his buddies to share our good news. They congratulated us and welcomed us to the parent club. It was now time for me to tell Jaxon. Since he'd moved back to Huntsville, we have been able to talk more. I dialed his cell, nervous about how he would take the news.
"Hello."
"Hey Jaxon. How are you?"
"I'm doin well baby girl. How are you?"
"I'm fine."
"Ok tell me something I don't know."
"I'm pregnant!"
Silence was all I heard for a few seconds.
"Jaxon!"
"I'm here baby girl. I just had to process what you just said. I'm happy for you and Dre, but especially for you."
"Thank you. I was nervous about telling you, but I couldn't go through this without you knowing."
"Tee, I'm happy for you. You know all I want is for you to be happy. I'll always be here for you."
"I know you will and the same for you. Always and forever Jaxon."
We talked a few minutes longer before we hung up the phone. I could feel a lump come up in my throat. I wished Jaxon could find that special woman to love him. Maybe it would help me get past the guilt of loving him the way I do. He'll always be more than just my friend, but I'll never put us in a place where things would go further than friendship. I love Dre with all that I am. He's my husband and we are six months away from bringing a little one into our lives and I couldn't be happier.
