I've always been about my business when it came to my education and playing volleyball. There were a few people that I considered my friends and I did hang out with them when I had some downtime. I was focused on making sure I kept my g.p.a at 4.0 and I practiced on and off season for volleyball. At 5'8" and 145 pounds, I kept my body together by eating healthy and exercising. Staying in shape was detrimental to me getting an athletic scholarship.

My sights were set on one day playing volleyball for Texas A&M. I knew I didn't want to move too far from home and they have an awesome program. The day came when I got a call from the recruiter offering me a full ride. To say I was excited is an understatement!

My parents and I toured the campus and the athletic facilities. I knew what to expect because I'd done my research on the programs offered as well as what was expected of the athletes.

While walking by the football practice field, I saw that the team was lazily running drills. I scanned the field that was full of eye candy, but one really caught my eye. He had bronze colored skin and dark hair.  He looked to stand about 6'4" and body was chiseled by the gods. We just stared at one another as I was walking by. Whew, that gaze left me hot.

It's hot as heck in this gym and we've been practicing for at least two hours now. The coach blows the whistle to signal that we're done for the day. I go to the dressing room to get my bag and start walking to my apartment.  That's when I see him. He's walking my way. I try not to make eye contact, but as he gets closer he speaks and stops right in front of me.
I stop and speak back to him.

We had some small talk including telling each other our names. Andre told me there was a student party on campus later that night and asked if I'd join him. I'm not one for the party scene, but if I wanted to take in the college experience, one party wouldn't hurt. While exchanging our cell numbers, he said he'd come by my apartment to get me.

Since I didn't have much work to do, I had enough time to spare on getting myself together for the party. I wet my hair and sprayed in some leave in conditioner. Wash n go styles are the easiest. I put on a pair of blue jean shorts, a white tank and a gold short sleeve cardigan that stopped past my knees.  I paired my fit with a pair of black, white and gold high top Air Force ones. I'm not one to wear much makeup, so I swiped a little mascara on my lashes, added some eyeliner and glossed my lips with a nice champagne color. By the time I was done, Andre texted me to let me know he was waiting outside for me.

When we got to the party, we could already see the yard was packed. It's a good thing that it was an outside party. There were vendors set up selling food, sodas and desserts.

Andre and I walked until we met up with some other guys on the football team. He introduced me to the guys. We all asked one another questions like where we were from. I also told them that I was attending on a volleyball scholarship. A few of them took notice of my conservative attire versus some of the other females at the party. I told them I didn't have to show my body to give them something to look at. They all laughed and said I was different in a cool way.

Andre and I had so much fun. We laughed, joked and danced as if we've known each other a long time. Before ending the night, he offered to get some ice cream. I told him I try not to eat junk food so he said he'd get a bowl so we can share, that way I wouldn't have to eat much. After eating our ice cream, we walked back to my apartment. I told Andre that I enjoyed our outing and he said he would like us to hang out more. And that is what we did.
