WHEN TEAGAN WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING, SHE WAS REMARKABLY COMFORTABLE. Regardless of how refreshing her sleep was, her body still ached with the remnants of exhaustion. Other than that, her soul felt unusually at ease. Fighting the urge to remain curled up under her boyfriend's sheets, she forced herself to sit upright, rubbing her eyes with a yawn. She reached for her phone to check her notifications, only to find that her negligence in finding a charger the night before had left her phone with no battery. She sighed and swung her legs out of bed.
The hem of the grey t-shirt that she had slept in brushed against her mid thighs, and despite the chill in the room, that's where her coverage ended. Techno's legs were way too long for her to be able to borrow any of his sweats, and there's was nothing that sounded more uncomfortable to Teagan than sleeping in jeans. Considering she had no idea what direction the previous night was going to go in, she hadn't anticipated needing a change of clothes. Thus, her outfit lay folded neatly at the foot of Techno's bed, and she was left crossing the room in her makeshift pajamas.
She cracked the bedroom door open, standing on her bare toes as she poked her head into the living room. She spotted her boyfriend almost immediately -- after all, there weren't very many places in the small apartment he could be. He was sat at the kitchen table, his back turned towards the bedroom and Teagan. He rubbed the back of his neck as he bent over a notebook, clearly entranced by whatever he was working on.
Teagan smiled to herself before walking as quietly as she could across the room. He jumped a little bit as she ran her fingertips up his back, but it didn't take much more than a second for him to relax into her arms. She smiled as she rested her chin on his shoulder. "Someone's already busy," she murmured.
Techno laughed, glancing retrospectively at the papers in front of him. "I woke up with an idea," he explained thoughtfully. After a moment of thought, he shook his head and brought himself back to attention. "I just didn't want to wake you up with typing," he finished with a small smile.
Teagan's heart thumped in her chest and her face flushed. She buried her face in the crook of his neck. "You're a sweetheart," she murmured into the fabric of his shirt.
He let out a chuckle, turning his chin to kiss her temple. "It's the least I can do after begging you to stay," he teased. Teagan giggled at that, raising her head to gaze at him. It was the first time she'd fully seen his face all morning, and it was taking all of her power to keep from breaking out into a cheesy grin just at the sheer sight of him. Luckily, he saved her from the torment of figuring out how to compose herself. "How'd you sleep?"
"Good," she responded with a hum. A smile curved onto her lips, "You've got a comfy bed."
Techno smiled affectionately, reaching up to smooth out some of her matted hair. "I'm glad you think so," he responded softly. His gaze lazily wandered across her face for a moment before his smile changed ever so slightly, his lips curving into a more mischievous expression. "How do you feel?"
Teagan's felt her cheeks redden, and while part of her wanted to roll her eyes at him, her shyness ran its course, and she found herself flustered. She cleared her throat before answering him with a quiet, but sincere, "Good."
Techno raised his eyebrows, his smirk gone, exchanged for a genuine expression. "Yeah?" he asked gently. When she nodded, he smiled, softly running his fingertips along the curve of her jaw. "Good," he repeated as he pressed a sweet kiss against her lips. His heart constricted in his chest as he felt her smile before returning the kiss.
