You were a mage. A famous mage, at that. So you were popular- your powers went beyond the normality of the times. Not only could you heal, but you could copy other people's skills. Your fellow mage and friend, Frost Queen, had allowed you to test her skills before. You had summoned your aura and used her own power against her, as to which you giggled in delight.

Tonight was the famous MIC Gala (Mage Intelligence Corporation), and you got an invite. The list also stated everyone else who'd attend the party. One name stuck out to you- an old peer turned rogue. He had been defeated and eventually turned back over to the light. While his reputation was still shot, everyone was now aware of his divine abilities.

Frost queen, with all her cold glory, declared this year she was dressing both you and herself. You didn't argue, knowing if she put her mind to something- there was no going back. She found an off-white, blue tinted dress with a large white bow to tie at the back. It was off the shoulders and ruffled at the bottom. You looked stunning, take it as you will.

The queen of the cold was dressed in a white ice themed kimono. When you arrived, you were happy to see your other friend. Cotton was dressed in a fluffy white dress with a brown petticoat.

You both giggled and hugged each other, walking swiftly across the red carpet so pictures could be taken as soon as possible. That's when you saw Him. Draped in a black set of robes to rival Severus Snape's- he had his dreads tied back so both of those bright yellow eyes were showing. His waist and wrists were bound with a gray clothing clip, which allured the graceful flow of his cape behind him as he hastily walked past you and into the gala.

Your face knotted in interest as Frost Queen grabbed your shoulder. "I know that look," she whispered cooly. "He isn't someone to associate with. Out of all the cookies who returned, only Red Velvet is seen as a good person. If he even makes an appearance tonight, it'd only be wise to talk with him."

You nodded, but mentally you disagreed. Even if he wasn't a Highly looked upon person, he was someone who should still be talked to. Deciding that pictures weren't necessary anymore, you tiptoed away as soon as possible. The entry way to the gala was splendid- but the auditorium itself... Absolutely stunning. People were chatting. Only two you recognized- Latte and Almond. They were dancing as they should, their soft movements all the none beautiful.

You pranced in happily, smiling as you caught sight of the lonely mage. You made your way over like an anxious puppy, sniffing at the smells of fresh mint radiating off of him. "Hello?" You asked softly, tapping his shoulder. He turned around, eyes flashing. Oh, he recognized you. Licorice knew you as soon as you whispered towards him.

You'd been one of his idols. The news articles he read always had an interview of you in them. Your smiling, shining face. Sometimes it was about your battles. Then it featured artwork of realistic representations of you, your staff raised high and lightning screeching down to planet earth.

Smiling, you tilted your head. "Are you Licorice cookie? I've heard a lot about you." Like a stone hitting the bottom of a pond, his heart dropped. Well, she knew who he was too.... Well, fuck. He nodded in defeat, gritting his teeth. "I'm amazed by your talents, y'know! I rarely see people with lightning abilities. Maybe we can catch up later and talk about it, yeah?" He noticed your sudden panic and simply murmured a sure.

You whisked away, towards a particularly large group. He noted the chief of police was there, as well as the Queen of the Snow realm. A puffy haired girl and a redhead also accompanied the group.

"Hey, Vamp! It's been forever!" You hugged the taller man from behind, as to which he laughed and turned his head to face you. "Hey there, Y/N. It's a dime a dozen to find hugs like yours." He lifted his arm, allowing you to scooch underneath and give him a side cradle.
