Priya's POV

We finished packing, got the money we saved up and got everything ready: Including the plane tickets. We had nothing else to do for another two hours, so we decided to get as much rest as we could. Of course, it wasn't like any of us could sleep at all.

We left the house at 0200 sharp to catch our flight. The airport was pretty far away from our place, and we had to get there about two hours early to check in, too. We boarded our flight to the U.S. And took off to a new beginning. A new life.

The moment we stepped off the plane, I jumped up and down. "We're finally free!" I squealed. This got a few looks from people around us, but I didn't care. Ram just picked me up and spun us around in excitement. When he put me down, we laughed our heads off!

We never used to be part of a pack we have always been rogues. I could care less what packs would think about this. We weren't here to take down packs or anything else that rogues would do. (I don't remember much of what mom told me about rogues.) We were here to live our lives away from that bastard of a dad.

We had no school as of now, not that I minded. I hated the teachers we had! Anukritika mam (our computer science teacher) would just hate us all for no apparent reason, and don't even get me started on the Biology and History teachers!

Oh shit. I completely forgot - I would be utterly lost with the syllabus for the year! Fuck. I thought to myself.

Cheer up! I have a good feeling about this time. Trust me. Kritika reassured us.

And what would you know?! You're a freakin' wolf!! I snapped

Oh piss off. You're just a stupid human! Of course you wouldn't have the same sixth sense as me! She shot back.

I rolled my eyes at her and our tough love, blocking her out.

We got to the place we were staying for now. An old motel named Hotel Lotus. It looked really weird because the lights only lit up a few of the letters, spelling 'HELL'. Well, it'll have to do. It looked like your boring old motel. We certainly had enough money to stay in a better place, but we should probably save it.

We got a room in the place under the fake names we got ourselves. We couldn't have Vikram find out where we were, now could we? Instead of Priya and Ram Agarwal, we were Ava and John Jenkins. I loved the name Jenkins, so I convinced Ram to use this as the last name.

We unpacked in our tiny room and by the time we were done, the two of us were hungry!

My stomach growled, demanding food. We looked for the nearest restaurant and found a grocery store about 10 blocks away and a burger king on the next street. Perfect!

We decided that we'd stock up our fridge for a few days max because we'd have to find jobs, join a school and rent an actual apartment. We couldn't stay in that motel forever! But, we'll get that tomorrow morning. For today, burger king will have to do. Note the excitement ;P

After a quick yet exhausting and worrisome day, I fell to the bed, trying to fall asleep, but unable to. Of course it wasn't really helping that the only thing that could help me - my mate - was not here. We were taught about mates by mom. She'd always tell us how they were the only ones who could take away all your burden.

Flashback

"You know baby, you will also find someone special on day, just like how I found your dad."  My mother told me.

"Ew! Mom!" I whined, not exactly fond of the topic.

My parents just laughed at my reaction. "You know, that is exactly the way I would react when my parents told me about mates." Dad told me.
