John/Ramesh' POV
It has been a while since Priya left. I'm surprised she actually didn't run into her mate yet. I'm proud of myself for making it clear to her that I don't think she should meet her mate just yet. I have my reasons, though.
1. I'm just playing my role as her brother.
2. We have a very crappy life as of now because we don't know when Vikram comes to get us. If he does at all.
3. We aren't part of a pack. The guy might reject her for being a rogue.
4. Meeting him will start the development of the mating bond, which means that her heat will be 'round the corner, but we don't know if he'll be around to put her out of it.I'd say that I'm pretty justified with what I did. I'm not going to take back my decision.
I let her out because I know how it feels when you don't stretch your wolf legs for a while, although the feeling is stronger with Priya as she's a black. A black wolf. Mom told her about it one day, and thanks to my wolf hearing, I heard all of it.
She's special. She's unique. She's capable of much, much more than a regular werewolf.
I get bored and decide to unpack the stuff we bought and go through some job opportunities nearby so we can get some money. But I decide to look for the school later, because I think she has a very big role in choosing the school she goes to. Not like there are many options, but not exactly just one or two schools either.
Just as I was about to go out through the nearby restaurants and bars for a job in waiting tables or cooking (because I love cooking, don't judge.), I heard Priya voice in my head asking for help. I panicked and sprinted in a speed that would make Flash jealous.
Ram! John! I need help! I'm near this cave that opens to a -
I hear her tell me before the link goes off. What the heck?! She got herself into trouble. My wolf can't feel hers anymore. I feel as if she's been ripped from me.
I let out a yell of anger before ripping off my clothes as I shift into my big, deep brown wolf. I am sprinting into the forest when I smell her scent. There is no way I'm letting her go. No way am I going to leave her when she asked for help. She never asks for help. Something is very wrong.
I follow her scent till it reaches - like she said, a cave that opens... into a beautiful lake. I'd stop and admire the view if it wasn't for the problem at hand. Sure, we have been known to crack up in serious moments, but this is literally life and death. Her scent abruptly stops.
I growl. Whatever happened here, it was not natural. It's not possible to mask scent.
I decided that there was no way I'd be able to track her down without help. I probably should ask the nearby packs for help. I knew I was in the forest, which meant that I was either on someone's territory or neutral ground. Either way, I had to reach out to them, and fast.
I hoped I was on someone else's land, actually. It would make it much easier to find help. I'd have to prove to them that I was not a threat, though. Well, it's not like I have another choice.
As if some magical force had heard me, I was face to face with another werewolf. One from a pack. I sighed in relief. Although in my wolf form, it came out more like a huff. I bowed my head in submission and did as he asked when he ordered me to shift.
I was stark naked, but that's not the problem right now. "What are you doing here, rogue?" he snarled, glaring me down as if I had killed his mate.
"I need your help. My sister's missing. I need all the help I can get. Someone took her. Please, help me." I pleaded, worried shitless for my twin.
