Ava's POV

Everyone looked at mumma expectantly, waiting for her to continue the story.

"I was an orphan." She began. That alone sent us all into shock. "I was raised in a human family, and they did not know anything about werewolves. So the day I shifted, they all were afraid of me. They believed I was a curse. They did everything in their power to make me go away.

When they found a family of werewolves, they did not care to notice that the Alpha wasn't my mate. They just shipped me off. I was around 20 at the time. I met your father. He was a broken man. His mate died in front of his eyes. I was his second chance.

He always told me that, but I never believed him. I thought I'd know when I had met my mate. Turns out, the bond was one-sided. It's a really rare situation. I still loved him. I believed that my mate had died a long time ago, so I didn't really mind it.

Due to being his second chance mate, and him not really being my first mate, he didn't get the share of powers from me, but the powers were still passed on to my child - you." she said, pointing to me.

"We hid from the world, living the life of rogues because the pack wasn't happy with a black wolf as their Luna. They believed it was bad luck. One day, rogues found me, and like you had mentioned, killed me, but being a black wolf, I had a second life. Blessed by the Moon Goddess, this time, I searched for you, far and wide, and came across a pack of wolves and vampires.

They called themselves The Agency. I was recruited. I was fairly good with it, but then I realized that I had a family to look after. I couldn't get hooked up too deep in their work. I realized it pretty late, but I still managed to get out. I ran away from them.

I spent years searching for you and Prabhu. I couldn't find you guys. In the end, I found Prabhu. He..." She took a deep breath before continuing, "He sent me away. He said that I was never good for him, and he sent me away, he rejected me. I was heartbroken. I thought he'd take me in, I tried to explain, but he wouldn't have it. I decided that searching for you guys was my best option.

I needed to find you. It took me a while, but I found out that you also got tangled up with the Agency, far deeper than I had. I was angry. I was furious that they took people from their homes without so much as a second glance. All for fighting for our kind, yes, but that is not an excuse.

I found out all I had about you, and that made me even more upset. I found out about your most recent assignment. I found out that you killed Prabhu. I couldn't take it anymore. I talked to boss, and that's when you found me. The rest of what he said was true. It was all true." She finished, tears streaming down her face with volume that could rival Ganga.

I hugged her tightly, tears streaming down my face, too, from her story. Ram tried to keep it in, but failed miserably. "Oh, Ditya, Ram. I love you, mere bacchhe. (My children)" She sobbed

"We love you too, mumma." We replied. Everyone stared at us in shock. "You missed so much, mumma. I will make up for all the years we weren't with you." I said. She had a small smile on her lips as she looked at me and Ram, cradling our faces in her hand. "I can't wait." She whispered.

She turned to Adam. "If you bring any harm to my daughter, I'll ensure you won't be able to make babies in your whole life!" She threatened before smiling at Ram as if nothing happened and telling him, "I hope you have been taking good care of Emily. You are lucky to have a girl like her."

Everyone burst out laughing at my mom's sudden change in mood. She smiled to herself.

Adam's POV

Seeing Ava's mom was the biggest shock to us all. It was not expected at all, and we learnt that being a black wolf meant two lives. I was shocked at what I heard. I could not believe it. I refused to believe it.

When her story was over, she threatened me, making me gulp in fear. Ava was serious when it came to her threats, and I have a feeling she got that from her mom, not dad. She talked for a while with Ava and John in fast Hindi, so no one was able to understand them, but I didn't quite mind.

I was really happy with knowing that Ava and John, both had found their mother again. The were laughing, chatting away and having a good time. I decided to give them space. I left the room, letting them have some space.

One thing didn't leave my mind though. If Ava and her mother were both there, and seeing how Ava trained, I thought with a clone of her - her mother there - she'd be able to take down the Agency, once and for all. Why not finish the job right then and there?

Ava's POV

"Voh kuchh bol bhi nahi paa raha tha! (He had no words)" My mom burst into a fit of laughter as she finished her story. Catching up with mom had been one of the things I had refused to let myself think of. I tried, but no matter what I did, I couldn't bring myself to make it a good thought or dream.

And yet, here it is, a long-lost dream of mine, coming true. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must have been for mom to not know where we were.

We spent the rest of the day catching up, telling stories of the many years we have spent without her. It was finally time to go to bed. We gave her a room in a house a little ways from the pack house, but things didn't exactly turn out the way we expected them to.

Instead of accepting the house, she insisted that we come and stay with her. It was normal, apparently, but I wasn't too sure. We argued, and mom almost won, but thankfully, Adam barged in and managed to reason with her.

Needless to say, I was impressed. Adam couldn't even win an argument against me, and won against my mom?! I suppose it had something to do with him basically being her son-in-law, but I choose not to think on it.

Just as I was about to sleep in Adam's arms, he asked me a question, his voice all serious. "Can I ask you a question?"

"You just did." I teased.

"I'm serious, Ave." He said. I sighed.

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but why not take down the Agency right then and there? Knowing you, you'd be able to take him without a problem! Even easier if your mom was there. by her story, I could tell that she was no less than you. So why leave the job half done?"  He asked, genuinely.

"Are you serious?" I asked, amused. "Sure, I'm well-trained, and so is my mom, but there are so many people on his side who are equally well trained as us. Also - Who do you think trained us in the first place?" I replied, surprised he didn't have that much common sense.

His mouth formed an 'o' in understanding, and I shook my head in amusement. "You can be so stupid sometimes." I said. He grumbled something about me being his Luna under his breath before placing a kiss on my head, sending both of us into a peaceful sleep.

That night, I could argue I was the most content person on Earth, but I'm not going to lie about that. I'm very happy with my current situation, but I'm furious at McAllister. I had a chance, but it wasn't good enough. He's pin me down in an instant. I needed more help on my side.
