(A/N Hi, I'm apologizing once again in advance in case I fail to update over the next few days. Like I mentioned earlier - I have exams. Wish me luck! Thank you for understanding! (if you do, that is))
Adam's POV
I woke up to feel my bed empty. Oh come on! Will I ever get a chance to wake up with her?! I was sure she wouldn't leave again, but after what has happened, can you honestly blame me?
I found a note, just like yesterday, I went downstairs and 'practiced' with her, just like yesterday, only I didn't do much. Instead, I just watched her. Call me a creep, but I'm allowed to! She's my mate.
The only thing apart from that that was different today, was that my mind was clouded with thoughts on what she said last night. I understand how he still has her, and I'm infuriated, but I can tell that she is, too. I'm honestly glad she's planning on taking him down.
I also understand now why she doesn't accept her title as Luna. She can't perform her duties. Yeah, she may have some free time, but I believe she needs it - killing people isn't a part time job.
There was a stack of papers on my desk, some requesting the approval of mine for someone to join the pack, some involving matters considering other packs, some to approve of Ava as Luna of the pack, and some more.
Paperwork. The worst part of being Alpha. An Alpha's worst enemy - the enemy within the pack itself, slowly draining the Alpha, the unavoidable nemesis-
Shut up and actually complete stuff! I want to get back to Kritika! My wolf whined.
Who's Kritika? I asked
She's Ava's wolf. He sighed dreamily. He was whipped!
Not that I wasn't in the same condition. I was probably even worse than him!
After arranging for a ceremony to add a new member to the pack, I sigh, placing my head in my hands.
I smell Ava's scent. She's nearby. I hear a knock on my door and I know it's Ava. I need a distraction right now, so I go to the door without hesitation. I open it with a grin stretching across my face. She smiles back and wraps her arms around me, I return the gesture. I close the door behind her and pick her up.
Much to my pleasure, she lets me. My grin gets wider, if possible. She just chuckles and drops out of my arms when we reach my desk. She looks at the papers on my desk and takes a look at some of them - specifically the ones relating to her position as Luna. She sighs, obviously thinking negatively.
I lift her chin up. "Hey, it's alright. You don't have to be official yet. If you are feeling bored, you can help me out? Besides, you're going to do this stuff later anyways. We will get that... McAllister down. I'm sure of it." I reassure her. She just looks at me with a soft smile and pecks me on the lips.
Of course, that isn't enough... So I pull her back into a deep kiss. We pull away breathing heavily and grinning.
"Alright." She responds to what I said earlier. I smile at her.
"So what's up?" I ask her, trying to initiate conversation. "Ehh. Nothing. I've worn out my knife's sharp edge on target practice, so I thought maybe I should be doing something else..." She replies.
Of course she'd come only when something like that happened. She needs to spend some time with her friends. "Why not play?" I ask her. She just looks at me as if she'd never thought of that.
I chuckle lightly. "Why don't we play in the game room for a bit? Yeah? You and me, both." I ask.
She nods her head.
