Ava's/Priya's POV
The bloodsucker took me with him deeper and deeper into the jungle. He had tried to make conversation with me, but I wouldn't have it. He kept trying to make small talk as if we were the best of friends. I refuse to talk with it unless it proves to me that it isn't a threat and until I have a reason as to why the heck he's doing this.
Pretty soon, we reach a road, which leads up a hill. We follow the road for a while till we come across huge black gates. They have the words "THE AGENCY" engraved on them. "The agency? What's that?" I ask. The bloodsucker scoffs. "So now you decide to talk, eh? I gotta keep in mind that you won't talk unless you're curious."
I roll my eyes and glare at him, shutting my mouth once again, refusing to talk. It leads me through the gates and to a gigantic building. It's a wonder no one has found it yet. It's gigantic! Probably magic.
It's a sleek white building, which has around 10-12 floors. I see an enormous ground near it, where there are many people training. Archery, hand-to-hand combat, sword fighting, target practice, you name it. There was also an arena in the middle. I wonder what this place is. It looks like some sort of training center.
I notice all this as it leads me towards the doors of the actual building. Opening the doors, we enter a lobby. The place is even bigger on the inside. There is a tree growing bang in the middle of the structure. The tree reaches up, touching the sky. It is so tall that I can't see the end of it, and yet I wasn't able to see it from the outside.
What is this place?
I am pushed to the receptionist of the place. She looks at the leech next to me and gives a nod, apparently gesturing for him to continue with whatever he is planning. I couldn't care less with the gestures. I was busy scanning the place for an opening to escape.
Although it would be physically impossible for me to leave this stupid vampire's force field or whatever it is, if I could get out of it for even a second, it would be much, much easier.
We go up a staircase and come face to face with a door which reads 'Mr. McAllister - Boss'
We enter without knocking, to my surprise and the person inside seems to be expecting us. "Ah. I wondered what was taking so long. Please, take a seat." He says, kindly. This makes me narrow my eyes in suspicion. One of his bloodsuckers just pulled me into his office, by force, I might add, and I'm being treated as if nothing happened? "What do you want?" I growl out.
This just seems to amuse him. "Oh, nothing much. We just wanted to recruit you. We needed a black wolf. They are really rare, so imagine my surprise when one of my seekers found one?" He says, as if nothing big just happened.
I can sense that he is a werewolf, but why does he have a filthy bloodsucker around? What is wrong with this person? Seeing as I don't have a choice, I take a seat, and so does the vampire that brought me here.
"Welcome to the agency. Ms. Agarwal, is it?" he asks, although he doesn't really need to. "The Agency is an organization of supernatural creatures like yourself and Asher here. Here, we believe that all supernatural creatures deserve the same. They all are equals here, and there should be absolutely no negativity between two people because of their race. It is not tolerated here."
"Now, you might be wondering what we do here. We train selected individuals to be assassins. Killers. Not for our own profit, but to protect our kinds. To protect them from hunters." He said. By the time he finished, my jaw was practically hitting the ground. "Now, I hope you make the right decision. Will you join us?" He asks.
Will I join an organization like this? To which I was introduced by a bloodsucker? The only reason I am here right now is because the said bloodsucker forced me here? "No, I don't think I'd like to join you." I said. His expression hardened.
"Wrong answer." He replied. "You see, you don't have a choice. You have to stay here. We chose you because you will be able to better than anyone else. Well, with being a black wolf, and all."
I scoffed before answering, "A black wolf? I have been hearing a lot about that, but I still have no freakin' clue what that's supposed to mean. It's not like I control life and death right now. Find another black wolf or whatever you need. Also - What do you mean I don't have a choice? I'll leave this place, and never speak of it again. Just let me return home."
He was shocked at my answer. "I'm sorry, but we can't allow that. It's protocol. If we let you go, we will have to eliminate all traces of your existence. Meaning we would have to exterminate anyone who knows of your existence." I scoffed in disbelief. They weren't giving me a choice.
"So, what do you choose?" he said. I looked to who I assumed was Asher. He was just staring at me intently, as if noting down my every reaction. I gulped, feeling cornered. "Fine. I'll join your cult. But don't expect me to enjoy it." I added, not liking that they were giving off an aura that dominated me. I'm not used to it. It makes me uncomfortable.
"Excellent. Then it's settled. Take her to the room." He tells Asher. He then turns to me and says, "Don't worry about your belongings. We have put all the gear and everything you need in your room. You may come to my office when you get settled."
I nod and follow Asher. We go up another set of stairs and I see a door with my name on it. 'Agarwal', although I'm not too fond of what's written underneath it - 'Black wolf'. I mean - can't I get a break from all this crap?
I enter, thanking Asher. He just gives me a nod and scurries off. To where, I don't know, but I could care less. I feel relieved when the force field thing is dropped. It makes me feel more free. I can hear my wolf again.
Kritika! I was worried sick! How are you?! I thundered
Ugh... I think I have a headache... I'm alright apart from that. I saw everything. I was just disabled from communicating with you. You gotta ask them how they did that. I would have taken the offer right away. I'm going to make sure nothing happens to Ram.
Woah. You had a lot to say. I muse.
She rolls her eyes and retreats to the back of my mind, muttering something about needing rest, and I leave her be.
I open the door and I'm content with what I see - don't get me wrong, I actually love it. But I'm not going to give these assholes the pleasure of seeing me as anything more than okay with their ideas, much less impressed.
Nonetheless, the room is breathtaking. It's like a mini house all by itself. The first room is kinda like a lounge - it has a TV on one end (the right hand side wall) and a couch on the other. On the wall across from me, there is another door. I enter one of them and it leads to the bedroom. There is a bed in the middle of the right hand side, and two doors on the opposite side. One of the doors leads to the bathroom and the other leads to the closet - walk in closet, I might add.
Exploring some more, I see that all my needs have indeed been taken care of. There are fresh clothes in the closet, some folded and some hung on the hangers. There are a variety of different shoes, and I love them. In another corner of the closet, I see different types of holsters, and weapons placed carefully in them.
Nice place. I then decide to take a bath and go to Mr. McAllistor as he requested. After bathing, I put on some clothes, not caring what I looked like, and put on a belt with daggers. My favorite.
As soon as I finished talking with the boss that day, training began.
