Carperia
Prince Relian's POV
"When you said a date..." She grabbed another handful of salted crisps from the back. She's such a clumsy eater. My grandmother's mind must be on overdrive with this one. "...i thought it would be somewhere fancy! Candles, soft music... you know the sorts. I wasn't expecting the table to be the hood of your car!""With a killer view of Carperia at night!" I countered. "There's no restaurant in Carperia that can offer this!" The view from the Bell Tower is phenomenal especially from the roof in the morning. I can't take Renée there because it was my spot with Thalia. It was initially my spot but making love to her for the first time in that space made it hers. "Don't forget the rare unmatched performance from the jolly band of crickets!"
She shoved me.
Her laughter is so maniacal. I love it.
I draped my arm over her bringing her to rest her head on my chest as I also lay against the windshield. "It's beautiful Reli. This is better than a corset and a stuck up restaurant."
"Corset?" My mind is going on overdrive now that my imagination is quick to think of Renée in this said corset. "Are you wearing one now?"
I'm not opposed to getting back into the car just to find out. Or even feeling for the stiff thing. My fingers are already itching to unlace it for her.
"Reli!" She swatted my hand away when I pressed her to find out. She's not wearing one. I think she was on the night of the dinner. Her back was so straight she looked regal. My grandmother was proud of herself. "I'm not wearing one!"
"It would mean a lot to me if you wore one for me. A really sexy one, I like black." I winked at her.
"Oh boy!" She covered her face. The blush on her cheeks is beautiful.
It's the perfect moment to kiss her. But I'm thinking about what she said about not being able to get pregnant. It's disappointing but I love her and we will work our way around it. It was my wish to have an heir as soon as I take her as my wife.
"Renée."
"Yes my only love?"
"I have been giving it much thought and I want to meet your father."
She sat i suddenly. "Why?"
"Because honey... someone has to give you away-"
"I have a grandfather. He hasn't started using a walking stick. He can do it!" She sped spoke. "The General is not walking me down the aisle!"
Just like that she slid off the car to stand at the edge of the cliff. Barlowe pulled her back and made an imaginary line on the ground that he repeatedly pointed to. She stayed behind the line.
Daddy issues...
I approached her and stood behind her settling my hands on her bare dainty waist. "Okay. I'll meet your grandfather."
"That's better." She told me without looking at me. "Not Bruce St Patrick. Not him."
"What did he do that is so bad?"
"He never loved me." She answered. "He still doesn't."
She wiped her eyes. I imagine she's crying. I kissed the too of her head. I wrapped my arms around her. "I'm sorry Renée."
"I didn't... I'm not a bad person. I just hacked a few things and he disinherited me and threw me out like I'm trash and then you want to invite him to my wedding? No!"
"You will decide who can come. I won't dictate that but know if you are not team Bruce St Patrick, I'm in that team too." I turned her around to face me. "It's just that it is important for someone in your family to know I'm marrying you."
