Renée's POV
I have no choice but to keep silent. My throat is pretty sore from screaming my sister's name. I feel helpless tied to the car like this. You do someone a solid and then she backstabs me by leaving me zip tied to a car alone in a parking lot. There is no one within sight to ask for help. I cursed Rei quietly for pulling a fast one over me. I only want to follow her to be sure she won't get hurt. She can be reckless especially when motivated by rage. She goes all out like a deranged psychopath.

The sun is setting and soon it will be dark. I don't want to be alone for some pervert to come along and take advantage of me.

As my eyes darted through the empty lot desperately, I spotted a tall man with a cap coming from the airport. Excitement ceased me causing me to scream without holding back. "Help me please!"

He heard me and I saw how cautious he was when he took his time to look around. I thought he wouldn't come over but he did.  I can't see him clearly enough but I can't miss the hair hanging at the back of his cap. He is keeping his head low and not making eye contact. Is he shy?

"Please sir, cut me lose."

He looked around apprehensively. "Who tied you up?" He has a soothing voice.

"My sister. She ran off to do something really bad and I tried to stop her. She tied me up."

"She must be strong." I noted sarcasm in his tone.

"She caught me off guard. Please help me."

He got a knife out of his pocket.

I don't know this man and he can easily take advantage of my situation. My heart raced when I imagined the horrendous endless possibilities. But he was sincere enough to cut me lose without any further questions. He noticed my scarred wrist and frowned at me.

"It's not what you think."

Explaining that scar is something I had to learn not to do. "I wasn't thinking of anything." He raised his head a little. I looked into the dark eyes. The shadows are a hindrance but he seems nice. "You shouldn't be out here alone."

"No I shouldn't." I rubbed my sore wrists. "My name is Renée." I stretched out my hand. He shook it. "May I know your name?"

"No."

I didn't count on that response.

"Okay... Fine. Are you headed somewhere? I can give you a ride."

"Thank you." We got into the car.

Prince Relian's POV
"Damn it!" She suddenly stopped the car on the side of the road. "I have to make a phone call."

I also have s phone ca to make. I don't know whether to call it chance but I came to Italy to look for Renee St Patrick. When Stephen looked through Thalia's whereabouts before her death, we uncovered that she was in Daa Haan and she met someone.  The trail led to Lokefar. We lost it but she did speak to Dabi on that same day. After questioning Dabi, she admitted that Thalia was with this girl I have run into at the airport.

"I found her."

"That fast?"

"She seems ordinary, nothing special. I'll be back soon. How are things on your end?"

"Not good." Xanth answered.

His father has disappeared. Xanth and his brother have been stripped of their military titles and both of them have been questioned about their father's whereabouts.

"Hang in there. See you." I hanged up.

I soaked a cloth with the drug and got into the back seat.

"All done. Where am I dropping you-" she stared at the empty passenger seat. Before she could look back, I covered her mouth and nose with the cloth. She struggled but I held her steady.

"Easy. Stop fighting." I told her but she struggled until she passed out.

I carried her to the back seat. I zip tied her feet and her wrists.  I taped her mouth and just looked at her for a moment. She's pretty. But she knows some things I need to know. Right now, everyone is guilty until I say otherwise.

Someone needs to pay for my fiancee's death.
