Prince Relian's POV
"Who will be coronated in my place?"

"Without any other living members of the House of Kaelan, it goes to your sister. Princess Nilsa will be coronated as Queen of Chea Niva. That is law."

I picked you a framed picture of my father and Nilsa as a child. This wicked bitch won't stop. I have a strong feeling she is behind that signature. She must have tricked him or he trusted her. She has worked for him for the last thirteen years. She has never caused a problem. It's easy to be cautious at first but then when you begin to trust, you don't pay attention to details.

I set it down.

I tucked my hands into the pockets of my trousers. I kept my gaze on the moon for a moment. I'm thinking about what Stephen said. He said Taof and my father have a son. Delaney. But no one other than my father knows where Delaney is. He was the last person to see him. He also told me winter wants her child kept a secret. I can't help but wonder what's better. A scandal or Nilsa on the throne.

"Yes. There was a time when I wanted to abdicate. My father wasn't pleased but that matter was ironed out. You know how CN holds on to some medieval traditions?"

"Yes your highness."

"He said I'll fight Nilsa for my freedom. He said if I won, I get to walk away from the monarchy."

"Did you lose?"

"I won. I won and I chose to stay. The issue was resolved. If not why would he step aside for me to assume military command? Why was he pushing that I marry and have heirs? To the moment my father took his last breath, he was not opposed to me inheriting be the throne. This is not right. Something is wrong this situation. It makes no sense."

"I need to remain neutral on these matters."

"I understand that. When does this take effect?"

"As soon as tomorrow."

"I need more time."

"Your highness, I'm sorry but I have to uphold the law."

"Beatrice," I wrapped my fingers around her elbow. I looked deep into the brown eyes. "You held onto this for a few days before you showed up here to tell me about it. If you were really unbiased, you would have filed an injunction with the courts to stop my coronation as soon as you got hold of this. Something tells me you don't want Nilsa to be queen."

"Your highness, don't put me in a difficult situation!"

"I won't. I'm just saying we share the same opinion. You knew my father. Did he ever complain about me in the recent years?"

"No."

"Then please, in the name of his memory, give me a week to settle this."

"Four days. I can hold out for four days."

"Four days it is." I released her.

She ok the document with her. "We can't risk a fourth set if eyes seeing this. I'm so sorry Prince Relian. If it was you to me alone, I would shred this document and deny its existence. But your father always insisted that I must stay out of the politics of Chea Niva. Have a good night your highness and you have my best wishes." She curtsied and left.

I took a moment to myself before I followed.

"Is everything okay your majesty?" Barlowe asked me.

"Where is Nilsa?"

"I'm not sure."

"Find her and detain her in her room."

"With force?" He asked.
