HYUNJIN
"I'm home!" I shout to no one in particular, kicking my boots off near the door and hanging my coat up.
It's the next day and I've come home early from studio. They leave the studio open even on weekends to let the students catch up on work, not many come in but some do, I tried to work but I couldn't focus.
I felt so overwhelmed from last night, talking to Bella so casually and comfortably like we'd known each other for years.
It did worry me though when I got home, why was she so kind? Why was she so open to have a conversation with me?
Most people just see me and walk in the opposite direction or whisper the rumours I've heard for however long.
I came home earlier than usual today, I'm usually the last one out, because I didn't feel right today. I think last night was too much, I pushed it by helping her with her sculpture.
I couldn't help it though, Bella and her friend are the only ones that don't eye me like some dirt at the bottom of their shoe. She looked stressed and I just thought a little help will be okay and I'll leave her alone.
But she hasn't left my mind since.
From the minute I went to sleep to the minute I just walked through the door, she's been in my mind and I can't get her out.
I didn't look at her today, I couldn't get more sucked into those beautiful eyes. I was also scared, scared of what? I'm not sure.
I can't fall for someone again.
I can't do that to myself and also her, I don't want her living with the piece of shit I am.
"We're in here hunny!" I hear my mother call and I instantly relax at her voice.
I head to the kitchen and a grin graces my face when I see my two favourite girls.
"Jinnie!" Hyejin, my little sister, shouts and jumps off the dining chair and runs to me.
I gladly lift her up, holding her high above me and she giggles. That sound will always be my favourite, Hyejin always takes my worries away.
I balance her on my hip and cover her face with kisses, she giggles even harder and I can't help but laugh with her.
Her short curly brown hair bounces when she shakes her head and her missing tooth is visible when she smiles.
"How come you're home early?" I hear my mum ask and I look at her to see she's sat at the dining table. Hyejin's dinner plate and juice bottle is next to her so I assume Hyejin was having her dinner.
"Don't feel right today." I honestly tell her and her face morphs into understanding.
I place Hyejin back on the chair and stroke her hair whilst she gets back to eating.
"Dad at work?" I ask when I don't see him. I don't know why I'm asking because he always is.
Even though my mothers a full on artist, she doesn't make much money off it. It's hard to find people who want her work so my dad works extremely hard to provide for this family. Because he's a doctor, we rarely get to see him. But when we do, we make the most of it.
