BELLA

"Bella... can I be your boyfriend?"

I blink. Did I just hear that correctly? Hyunjin is asking if he can be my boyfriend? I'm too stunned to speak.

My ears start to ring and I start to contemplate if what I just heard was actually real or if I imagine it. Hyunjin laughs awkwardly at my reaction, scratching the back of his neck. "I can't tell if this is a good or bad reaction."

What he says finally brings me out of my shocked daydream and I have nothing to say other than, "yes."

Hyunjin blinks, shock now written all over his face. "Yes?"

I nod whilst smiling. "Yes."

Before I know it his lips are on mine and I gladly kiss him back. I've wanted this for so long, to finally be his and for him to finally be mine. I don't care about his reputation, I don't care what others think of him. I know Hwang Hyunjin and the man I know, I love.

"I would love to be your girlfriend, Hyunjin," I say when we break away from the kiss and his eyes start to turn glassy.

"I'm sorry it's taken me so long to realise how I feel about you, I've liked you for so long and I'm sorry its taken me this long to tell you," he apologises but I stop him, placing my finger on his lips.

"Shh," I shush him. "Don't beat yourself up over that, I'm yours now and that's all that matters."

The day goes past like a blur and I'm still in shock. Being his girlfriend still doesn't feel real and I feel like I'm floating. We spend the day together by relaxing, watching movies we both love whilst eating a variety of snacks. We even spend some time drawing together, but Hyunjin never showed me what he drew.

Hours quickly go by and the evening soon draws closer. To both of our disappointment, I have to go to work and none of us want to leave each other.

"Can you not just call in sick?" He groans, pulling me in for a hug.

I hug him back, chuckling. "I can't, I need the money."

Hyunjin pouts but listens to me anyway and I follow him to the door.

"Let me know as soon as you're home," he orders and I smile up at him.

"Of course." I nod and he pulls me in for one last kiss before he turns and walks down the hallway of my apartment complex.

Work tonight is a busy one. Lia and I have been rushed off our feet for the whole night, taking orders and delivering food. Once I clear a table, another sits down so I haven't had chance to take a break.

However, it nears to the end of the night and Lia and I sit down at the bar together, finally catching a break be both so desperately need. I watch as Lia chugs down a bottle of water and I laugh lightly at the sight.

"I think tonights shift has killed me off," she jokes and I laugh, feeling the same way as her. "How have you been anyway? Feeling better after that incident the other week."

I nod. "I'm okay," I tell her the truth. If Jae wants to scare me, she's going to have to do a lot more than throw a bottle at a wall.

"That girl looked like a complete psycho. I'm glad you're okay though." She smiles and looks up towards the clock on the wall.

She drinks the rest of her water and stands up off the stool. "Well I best head off," she tells me and grabs her car keys. "Would you like a ride? It's getting pretty late."

I shake my head and drink the rest of my water too. "No, I'll be fine, don't worry."

"Are you sure?" She asks whilst I follow her to grab my things.

"I'm sure, what's the worst that could happen?" I laugh lightly and she shakes her head with a smile.

"Well I'll catch you later, take care of yourself," and with that she heads out the door.

I follow suit and grab my bag, saying goodbye to my boss and heading out of the door also. The cold night air kisses at my nose as soon as I walk out and I wrap my arms around myself to give myself some warmth. I start walking down the street, the city lights light up my path and the cars cruise past me.

I'm almost at the train station when I hear some shouting and screaming. I frown and look about to see where the noise is coming from. Ahead of me is a car parked up at the side of the road and two figures stand next to it, I can't make out what they look like due to it being dark but I do know it's a man and woman as I can make out the tone of their voices. I slow down my pace as I don't want to walk up too close and somehow get involved, so I stay back and watch.

I watch as the screaming match ends and the man walks off, unfortunately walking towards me. My eyes widen as I realise I'm standing so awkwardly and clearly watching what was happening so I start to walk again and act like nothing has happened.

But that doesn't last for very long as I recognise the man the more he walks closer. To the height, to the hair, and to the face, I realise it's Kai.

I stop in my tracks and that's when Kai notices me too. "Bella?"

My eyes widen in shock when I take in his appearance. His eyes are dark and heavy like he hasn't slept in days, his hair is all messy, and his hands are covered in bruises.

"Are you okay?" I ask with a frown but before he can answer, we both turn when we hear a loud car engine roar. The sound of its engine gets louder and louder and I scream when the car starts racing towards us.

I don't know what happens next but all I can feel is my legs go tingly and numb and my body falling to the ground. Before my vision goes black, all I see is Jae sitting in the drivers seat.
