Jimin POV
It had been a little less than a day since I last saw her--last touched her. I had wanted to stay in bed with her all day long, but she was right. I had responsibilities. Namjoon and the guys are counting on me. Even more, I didn't want to let down ARMY. They deserve the best from me.
My mind kept returning to her. When I wasn't working with the guys, I kept myself busy with extra dance practice. Relying on remembering old routines to keep my mind distracted became necessary. I considered working on my English studies but soon realized they only made me think of her even more. When I got a text from my old friend Soo asking if we could meet up this morning, it was a welcome distraction.
We met up at the coffee shop Yoongi liked to visit because it was easier to maintain some privacy there. I wore my typical hat, sunglasses, and mask and we found a table in a quiet corner to talk.
"How are things going, Jimin?"
"Busy. We're in the process of preparing for a world tour. How about you, what have you been up to?"
"Hitting on the ladies, especially the foreign ones," he smirked. "All joking aside, I'm slowly working my way up the ranks. Corporate life can be boring but it has its perks. So, tell me more about your world . . . Woah!"
"What?"
"I think I just found my next target."
"Huh?"
"She's going to be a challenge because she's older, but my god! Take a look, Jimin!"
I turned around and there she was--my angel. She was sitting at a table by the door sipping her coffee. Soo was a notorious and successful flirt. My face grew a little hot at the thought of him hitting on her. I needed to do everything in my power to veer him away from her without letting him know the truth.
"Well, since she's older, she's probably married, Soo."
"Since when have I let that stop me?"
I scowled at him, "Well, have you ever dated an older woman? She's probably not interested in younger guys."
He winked at me, "Challenge accepted!"
He stood up to walk over to her when I noticed her stand up and wave at someone who had just entered the coffee shop. I looked over and saw a tall, handsome man with dark blond curly hair. He was about Namjoon's height, but he had Jin's broad shoulders. He smiled and walked over to her, hugged her, and pecked her on the lips.
What the fuck? Who the hell was this guy?
Soo did a quick 180 and returned to our table realizing his opportunity to hit on her had passed.
"Damn. I was too late. Some guy showed up and joined her."
"Uh-huh," I clenched my teeth.
"Hey, Jimin, are you okay? You look and sound a little angry."
I hesitated for a moment and replied, "No, I'm just tired. I was up late last night practicing."
"Man, did you see the guy she's with? He's really attractive. Well, for a foreigner, that is."
"Uh-huh."
I felt a rage starting to build in me. What the hell was Addy doing with this guy?
"Ooooh, Jimin! Look at the way she's looking at him. He looks to be about our age, maybe even younger. She must like them young. Maybe I have a chance with her, after all."
I forced myself to turn around and look again. There was Addy, staring at him with adoration. His eyes were fixated on her. The expressions on both of their faces were filled with what I could only describe as love. He placed his hand on hers and held it while they talked.
That's it! I was pissed! Was I nothing but a fool to her? Just another hot young piece she could have a fling with behind her husband's back? How many other guys had she used the poor, innocent, neglected wife routine with? And what was so special about this guy? So what if he was taller with broad shoulders. My gut churned at the thought of the things this guy had done to her--with her. I started to feel sick from being tricked and used.
"Hey, man. Are you sure you are okay? You're not looking too good."
"Yeah. I've just got a lot on my mind."
That's it. I had to just power through. Addy was in the past. She had her fun with me, just like she wanted. Now, I need to move on.
"So, about your world tour . . ."
