Now that Jimin had a key to my apartment, he could come and go at any time and not worry about trying to wake me from my sleep or disturbing the neighbors with his knocking in the middle of the night. I was usually awake and ready for him, but a couple of times I fell asleep on the couch and it would take me a few minutes to realize he was knocking on my door.
Anticipation for what was yet to come tonight washed over me. I had more things planned for Jimin. His time for today was 10 p.m. Because I had a bit of a wait, I decided to preoccupy myself with work at Hybe instead of pacing around my apartment anxiously waiting for him.
When I looked up after what I thought was just a few minutes I discovered it was pitch black outside. I looked at the clock. 7:00. Shit! Five hours had passed in the blink of an eye. I needed to get home so I could be ready for Jimin.
I headed downstairs and took one look. Fuck. The snowfall and wind had picked up while I had been working. I was snowed in. I texted Jimin to let him know that I was stuck at Hybe and let him know to stay home and stay safe.
I turned to head back up to my office to try to make myself comfortable for the night. Just then, Yoongi walked toward me. "What are you still doing here, Addy?"
"I lost track of time while I was working. It doesn't look good, Yoongi. It looks like we might be stuck here for the night."
He took one look outside and muttered, "Shit." He then turned, looked at me, and asked, "Well, since it looks like we are both stuck here, you want to come back to my studio and hang out?"
"Sure!" I smiled. It was good to know I wouldn't be stuck alone for the night.
Yoongi POV
I brought Addy to my studio so we could hang out and spend time together. Normally I liked to be on my own, but I felt bad about her being stranded in the building. Of course, having her for company wasn't the worst situation to be put in, either.
"Here, have a seat," I said pointing to the couch. She took off her coat and sat down, then began to scan the studio.
"This is really cool, Yoongi!" she said. "I bet this is your happy place." She smiled and her eyes lit up.
I cleared my throat and brought up the book she had given me earlier in the day. "So, that book you got me--"
"You know what, Yoongi, it's okay if you don't like your gift. I can get you something else."
"No, I-I started reading it today and I really like a lot of what it has to say."
"Really?! Oh, that's so great to hear. I almost didn't get it because I was afraid you wouldn't like it, but it just seemed to fit your personality. You're such an amazing person and I wanted to show you how much I appreciate having you in my life."
"Thank you." Fuck. This woman was yet again drawing me in. There was something about her. I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe that was just it. There were too many things about her that got me hot and bothered. Little things that all added up to make the bewitching woman sitting before me. She was totally clueless as to the power she held over me. I felt my face getting a little hot. Addy made it so difficult for me to maintain my reputation of having a cool demeanor.
"So, what have you been working on lately? Or can you not share it?" she asked.
I hesitated and then offered to share some snippets of songs I was in the process of tweaking. I turned on my computer and right there in front of her was the very thing I didn't want her to see. I quickly clicked to close it, but she saw just enough to see the word "violet" listed in the text.
"Violet? As in 'I purple you'? She asked. "Is that a song for ARMY?"
It was a song for her--about her. I quickly covered, "It's just something I've been bouncing around in my head. I'm not sure if anything will ever come of it."
"Oh."
"Here, listen to this. Let me know what you think." I played one of the other songs I was working on and she sat and listened intently. She closed her eyes and started to move a little to the beat. When I stopped the track she opened her eyes and smiled.
"It's good. I sense a bit of a Latin rhythm to it as well. Is that what you were going for?"
"Yes."
"So is it going to be a sad song? A happy song? A song with a strong social message?"
"That's for me to know and you to find out," I smirked.
"Ahhh, right. You can't reveal too much before a song is released," she nodded.
I turned on another song. "Tell me what you think of this one." We ended up spending over an hour discussing multiple songs I had been working on. She showed curiosity, at times asking me about choices I had made. One time she even pointed out that she felt like something was missing. When she made the comment, she quickly clasped her hand over her mouth and apologized.
"I'm sorry, Yoongi! Ignore what I just said. I don't know what I'm talking about." She then looked over at my piano.
"Do you play?" I asked her.
"Me?" she laughed. "God, no. I can play some simple songs very poorly, however. We had an organ in my house growing up, so I taught myself some simple songs that only needed one hand to play them, but the organ and the piano are two different things."
She chuckled and I could see her mind wander like she was thinking back on something. I built up the courage to ask her. "What are you thinking about?"
"Oh, I'm just thinking back to when I was in middle school. My dad bought me a small sampling keyboard. I had been begging him for it for months. I was convinced I was going to be a great songwriter. As it turned out, I didn't have a lick of talent. It was fun to play around with it, though."
She looked down and seemed a bit sad. I decided it might be best if we changed subjects. "Well, since it looks like we are stuck here for the night, how about we turn on some Netflix and make some instant noodles. Are you hungry?"
Her eyes lit up. "Sure! I mean, if you don't mind. I don't want to inconvenience you."
I asked her what her taste was in movies and she surprised me when I discovered she liked most movie genres including action movies. She assured me that she didn't mind violent, bloody action scenes, even stating she liked the movies Deadpool and Hot Fuzz. We sat and watched an action movie as we ate. She wasn't kidding--the look on her face showed she was really into the action scenes. It was yet another thing about her that got me all hot and bothered. About an hour into the second movie, I noticed she seemed to be drifting off.
"Addy?"
"Mm-hmm?" she replied sleepily.
"Here, why don't you lie down." I stood up so she could stretch herself out on the couch.
"But what about you?" she asked.
"Don't worry about me."
"No. This is your studio. You get the couch. I'll take the floor." She started to get up off of the couch.
"Like I said. Don't worry about me. I'm going to be sitting at my desk and working on my music anyway." With that, she agreed to lie down on the couch and go to sleep.
I went back to work on my music as she quickly drifted off to sleep. At one point I took off my headphones and got up to go to the bathroom, stopping momentarily to watch her as she slept. She looked like an angel. I could hear the slightest snoring sound emanating from her pretty little mouth. It made me smile. Who would have thought snoring could be cute?
When I returned from the bathroom, I decided to open up the document with the lyrics to the song I had been working on--the song about her. Watching her sleep inspired me. I buried myself in the work of writing about her. It was challenging because I had to keep it subtle. I didn't want anyone else to know who I was writing about. It was going to be my little secret.
Just a little after one a.m., I decided to call it a night. I rolled up my coat to turn it into a pillow and stretched out on the floor to sleep. I woke the next morning to find Addy standing at my desk and staring at one of my screens.
